  1. I know his trade value is highest now, but really trade Khabi? He's carrying this team.. Havlat I'm fine about. Why hasn't he been injured yet?
  2. It's certainly possible. He fell 5 votes short of last time around, and the HOF is doing everything short of outright demanding that the Veteran's Committee elect SOMEONE to the HOF for once. If they elect someone, he seems by far the most likely choice.
  3. I'm not saying it won't happen, but from the sounds of Rosenthal, there are just so many obsticles to overcome in order to make it happen. And if the Cubs are so tight on money, getting Peavy would certainly greatly lessen the odds of getting a good RF, something I've deemed as more of a need than SP (although Peavy certainly isn't just any other SP)
  4. So you're saying that things are setting up perfectly for Hill?
  5. Everytime I think the Hawks are on their way, they seem to regress.
  6. We need some more discussion on this game. This is essentially the Bears season tomorrow. GO BEARS!!!
  7. I know its been over for a little while, but that Mizzou/Kansas game was really really fun to watch.
  8. haha, I'm watching the Michigan/Savanah State game, tie score with 10 seconds left, Michigan steals the ball and their freshman PG Novak had a breakaway with 3 seconds left. Instead of laying it in for the game winner with less than a second to go, he tries to make an emphatic dunk (probably trying to get on sportscenter) and misses. The game is going into OT now... Edit: At the end of OT, Sims hit a shot at the buzzer to win it, so all is well....except Michigan barely beat Savanah State at home.
  9. Don't worry. You could try to avoid running up the score and still accidently score against the Detroit Lions.
  10. I can't decide what sucks more: that a team that was 8-2 a week ago could ever be considered a candidate for "an inescapable freefall", or the fact that I totally agree with the description. Other than Denver, Green Bay is the worst team left on our schedule. We HAVE to win. I don't mean to disrespect your team, I'm basining it off the fact that your team has played under what I'd expect for several weeks. Until Delhomme shows me something I can go off of, I'd have to consider Carolina as a flawed team. Despite 2005, I'd love to see the Panthers advance.
  11. Points gotten from each other: San Jose: 4 Chicago: 2 It could be much worse, but I'd love to say we stole points from the best teams in our conference.
  12. The Trib is saying Vasher is likely out the rest of the year.
  13. I would love traditional matchups on Thanksgiving. Bears vs. Lions, Giants vs. Cowboys or something, but then CBS would have nothing.
  14. I just found about a dozen predictions from websites across the web, and every single one of them calls the game a tossup with a slight edge to the Vikings. All of the picks were for the Vikings by anywhere from 1-13 points.
  15. I hope people wouldn't be shocked if Oakland beats KC
  16. That Carolina/Green Bay game is really interesting. The loser might be in an inescapable freefall
  17. I think LeBron would have considered Chicago if NY wasn't an option. It's a large city with a big fan base and basketball history. That said, he's going to NY. They are pretty much going to offer him a crapload of money and promise him any other FA available. He essentially gets to choose his sidekick.
  18. High praise from Bill Simmons about DRose: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/081126&sportCat=nba
  19. I didn't realize it had to do with the road team, interesting. They could make the third game switch every year between which conference has the choice. One year, the NFC is the road team in the third game, and Fox has the ability to switch out from their game, while the next year an AFC team is the road team so CBS can switch out from their game. There will be some years of course where there will still be bad games, but at least it increases the chances of at least one good game. This years games are so bad, its going to be hard to watch. I don't even have any fantasy interest in either game. :(
  20. I think the third game should be guaranteed to be an AFC/NFC matchup, and in the event that Detroit or Dallas sucks, the networks will have an opportunity to move Detroit/Dallas to NFL Network for the other game. They can rotate every year for priority.
  21. Hey may be a bit of a 'buffoon', but I generally enjoy listening to him talk. One thing I like about him is he stays true to his opinions for the most part. He doesn't go from hot team to hot team every week as his favorites. It's been so annoying to see everyone go from saying the Packers are the clear favorites to win the NFC North because of a blowout win against the Bears (seriously, one game? The Bears were outplayed but 'Any Given Sunday' mentality please), but now they got demolished by a NO team that clearly matched up well against them, and everyone is picking the Vikings or Bears. I kinda got off topic there, but its so annoying to see this happen, especially in such a fickle sport like football. Stick to your guns. Use actual football analysis and don't just judge a team by their last 1-2 games.
  22. They probably don't get attached to their best or even average players because they will likely be gone sooner than later. That leaves Jack Wilson to love.
  23. Yeah, I'm all about tradition here. Watching the Lions lose on Thanksgiving is tradition.
  24. What an awesome night for sports tonight. I'll be at the bars for 'black Wednesday' watching the Bulls/Spurs at 7:30 and then after my Rosegasm, I get the Hawks and NHL leading Sharks. Can't wait.
  25. Man I wish the Williams 'brothers' would get their suspensions already. That would change everything IMO. I was listening to Hub yesterday and he said the time between their appeal hearing and the NFL's decision has been unusually long.
