  1. I also mentioned this, that Lou and Hendry were throwing a hissy fit about Kerry's blister and wanted nothing to do with him. I really hate being right all the time If that is true, seriously wtf Lou. Stop holding grudges on all your players. It's not like Wood was telling himself to heal slowly. Anyone who has followed Wood's career even passively would know that Wood has pitched through pain quite a bit. You moran.
  2. Yeah, I actually started to like him after the Harden trade, but now I'm just confused. How is it confusing? If Wood accepts arbitration, he's going to get at least $8 million, which will take the Cubs out of the Peavy sweepstakes, and really limit his options for a RF most likely. The only confusing part is why he traded for Gregg and let Wood go to begin with if Wood supposedly would have accepted a 1 year deal.
  3. Where were all these Hendry haters when everyone was praising him for earning his contract extension? I realize he's had some questionable moves since he was extended, but those moves are no where near among Hendry's worst since being the Cubs GM.
  4. Money is probably the biggest thing holding it up, but not the only thing.
  5. That's what I'm saying. This could have played out so much differently.
  6. If Hendry and Wood have such a great relationship like Hendry says, and Wood and the Cubs left on amiable terms, then why wouldn't Hendry ask Wood to decline arby and help the team out?
  7. It sucks but its defensible. We really just don't have the unlimited budget we had in previous offseasons, or at least until we get an owner. Hopefully this owner crap will be resolved sooner rather than later. But at least we have Soriano!
  8. I could have sworn I heard on my drive home on 670 that the Cubs declined to offer arby, but to be completely honest, I was barely listening and they could have just been talking about the deadline tonight.
  9. lol stacey king wet himself over that crossover I love that Stacey King brings a level of excitement to the telecasts. In previous years, Red Kerr would have started to yell briefly then choke on his throat lozenges for the next 5 minutes.
  10. Wasn't he injured for awhile? I know he's quickly fallen out of favor with the Bears.
  11. I believe he signed with the Giants last week.
  12. Reminds me of the stories of the some of the superdelegates during the democratic primaries
  13. It's not a perfect argument to use point differential for all of the contests (at least for this season), especially for the bad opponents like Baylor and A&M. How do we know that Texas didn't build up a 35-0 lead, and then play their 2nd team for the entire second half as it gave up a couple TDs, while OU ran their starters out there the whole game. Probably didn't happen that way, but who knows just an example. The problem with using it in the future is that it will allow teams to run up the score on bad opponents. Maybe a point differential system where there is a cap on each individual game of 25 points or something, so the most any team can gain from one victory is +25
  14. They tried to pass on first down, and ran the other 3 times.
  15. It apparently impressed one voter, which is more than I was expecting. I think they had 4 votes last week, so it actually turned off 3 voters. They obviously don't respect the pure awesomeness of Savanah State.
  16. Looks like Michigan's OT Home win vs. Savanah State didn't impress as many voters as I had hoped.
  17. Hopefully Dan Plesac can ride the Big Blue Train all the way to the HOF!
  18. Here is a link to Derrick Rose awesomeness: http://www.docksquadsports.com/2008/11/derrick-rose-will-break-your-ankles.html The 3 videos are: -Rose breaking Miller's ankles on a crossover -Gordon feeding Rose for a fastbreak Alley Oop dunk -Rose coming from nowhere to swat a Miller breakaway layup
  19. Completely disagree. The odds that he will have any sort of prolonged success as an amazing returner are extremely low. I think he's lost that step he had and he's not going to get it back. But he's shown enough in his 1.5 as a receiver to make me believe he can keep getting better, and he's going to have much more of an impact there than at returner. I just don't think he has the hands to be a good/great receiver. He might have lost a step, but that could have to do with his hip injury early in the season. I'm hopeful it returns. But even if it does, I don't see that making him some great receiver. In any case, I fear we've seen the best of Hester already... Regardless, he's not going to help the team more as strictly a returner. That's done. He's not a #1, but he could be a tremendous weapon if the Bears actually had a good WR on the other side, and an offensive line that could block for more than 2 seconds. Ok then...choose returning or WR...get him off doing both...:P I guess as a #2 WR he could be ok, but he's getting paid like a #1, isn't he? I don't see Hester becoming anything more than a #3 WR at this point. I agree with your original point of having him concentrate mainly on returning, even if he has lost a step, he still can be one of the better returners in the League just not the greatest of all-time as he was the 1st two years. To me, that's better than force feeding a below avg. WR into a more important role than he's worth based on financial and bad decision making. So basically what we all feared is actually happening. Devin Hester is following Dante Hall's career arc

That's why I told everyone I could to enjoy Devin while they could. There is just not a long self life for any dominant return man, let alone one that lives and dies by his speed.
  21. I'm being really nitpicky here, but the title should read "12/2 - Philadelphia (7-10) at Bulls (8-9) - 7:30 pm, WCIU" Sorry, little stuff like that bugs me when I notice it.
  22. Lovie just said that Dusty's injury is considered serious. 3rd season ending injury in 3 seasons in the NFL, gah.
  23. Nice they are auditioning punt returners
  24. Uhh Bulls next game is at home against Philly on 12/2, not at Milwaukee.
  25. Which the Vikings just essentially clinched.
