http://www.nitology.com is a very good one too. I think they got 31/32 last year. I am very versed with how the NIT selection process works.

The odds are good that last year was a much better year to pick the four #1s. Yeah Derwood that doesn't make sense. It never happened until last year, and this year there was so much debate over who would be #1 seeds, probably 6-7 teams had a legitimate claim for a 1 seed. 3 of the #1 seeds are in the same conference, so who knows how good they are against teams from other conferences who play different styles. One of the number 1 seeds lost one of their key players for the year and hasn't looked like the same team since. 3 of the 4 teams have taken turns losing immediately after becoming #1 in the polls. I think 2 of the number 2 seeds, Duke and Oklahoma are more talented than 2 of the number 1 seeds UConn and Louisville. This is actually a really poor year to just pick the four number 1's.

Yeah, except for basically the complete opposite reasons. By selecting Arizona, the committee went against everything they've been saying the past decade. Yeah, I should have added that. That's exactly why I think so. There are worse teams to get in then Arizona (barely) but the reasoning is pathetic and disgraceful. If Michigan didn't get in because of that, I'd be really really upset at the NCAA

Actually now that I think about it, Arizona getting in is one of the biggest NCAA selection screw jobs that I've seen since Air Force a few years back

Some of you may remember after Z's no-hitter (that i attended) that I told everyone that my fingers were going numb at the end of the game from nervousness. This had only happened to be 1 other time in my life, in the 9th inning of Game 5 of the 2003 NLDS. Well it just happened to me as the South region was being announced.

Exactly. I'm ready to throw things. There can't be a way that Arizona or Minnesota would make it over Michigan right?! If so there is no justice in this world. This just goes to show you the analysts don't know crap....the committee thinks different or succubs to their own groupthink. I'm so nervous. I don't think I'll ever trust college basketball again if Michigan doesn't make it.

It sucks because I think Penn State is definitely talented enough to be in the tourney, and if they had played and beaten just ONE top 50 RPI non-conference team, they'd be in a much different situation.

Realistically I am thinking there are 2 spots open right now, and they are going to be between Penn State, Maryland, St. Mary's, Creighton, and Arizona. I am thinking it's ultimately going to come down to Maryland, St. Mary's and Creighton. I think in the end it will be St. Mary's and Creighton. I think USC winning killed Arizona, I think the fact that the "Big 10 doesn't deserve 8 teams" sentiment is gaining steam kills Penn State. I think Maryland will get knocked out because of their 7-9 conference record. I think St. Mary's gets in because of that brilliant Eastern Washington game, and Creighton gets in because their resume actually looks pretty decent compared to the others who seemed to have played themselves out over the last week or two. This is just my guess on how the commitee looks at it, I could obviously be wrong and would be happy to hear counter arguments.

Sorry PSU fans, I can't see PSU getting in now unless the committee has a serious boner for them. I'm starting to get nervous about Michigan now but I'm still pretty sure they are in. My girlfriend is freaking out about her alma mater (Dayton) getting screwed by that.

I know this is a joke I've used before and is definitely stale, but I think Vinny Del Negro coached both teams before the game about how to execute late game inbound play.

WTF?!?! This is an absolutely unbelievable way to finish an SEC title game. If this is the quality of play in the SEC, I guess they deserve only 2 (now 3) teams in.

I can't believe a borderline 5 second call might decide the SEC championship game and possibly knock a team like Penn State out of the NCAA tournament.

Duquesne is blowing out Dayton right now. If Duquesne beats Temple tomorrow, does Temple still get in? This could be a nightmare if the A-10 takes 4 teams.

The argument that calms me down everytime I start to get worried is that it seems like Michigan is 6th in the pecking order of Big Ten teams, ahead of Penn State and Minnesota. Penn State is obvious, Michigan has a much better RPI and better wins and a harder SOS. Minnesota has a slightly better RPI, a worse SOS and Michigan beat them twice. I can't think of a way that either of those teams jump Michigan at this point, unless Penn State has a crazy comeback tonight, and I REALLY can't see the NCAA only taking 5 Big Ten teams.

Guys reassure me I'm starting to get nervous with temple, Baylor, and Maryland making runs. This is turning into worst case scenario. Michigan is still a borderline lock right? By that I mean they are a very likely bubble team that gets in.
