  1. I know it's weird but I kinda like the idea of all that info in one place in book form. Plus some people collect them.
  2. Yeah its amazing, I used to be a huge Nocioni fan, and I haven't even missed him.
  3. there's so much funny about this. he's better than player a, unless he hits first, in which case player a is better than he is. Clearly you lack the proper understanding of the nuances of the game. Being a leadoff man isn't just batting first, it's a state of mind that numbers cannot express. The funny thing is, even if you believed that a hitter in the leadoff spot changes his approach to fit that spot in the lineup, Soriano is the last player that people would think have changed their game to fit there.
  4. Shouldn't be a huge deal tonight as Stuckey has torched Rose this season, and with all the Pistons injuries, he should be either their number 1 or 2 option offensively.
  5. Yeah, Gaudin is definitely the long man...IF he makes the team. He has had an awful spring IIRC, and close to being in Lou's infamous doghouse.
  6. Nice...today's lineup probably for the first time this spring resembles close to what opening days lineup will be, except Fukudome in for Reed (most likely with Oswalt going) and Fontenot for Miles.
  7. That should be fun. I'm expecting you guys to win though because I don't think the Bears have ever lost on SNF and I don't think the Packers have ever won on SNF. Not to mention besides that ridiculous fluke of a game last year in Green Bay, you guys have had our number at Lambeau ever since Lovie became head coach. We do win a lot on Sunday Night Football, but off the top of my head, I remember losing to the Cowboys in 2007 on SNF as the torch for the NFC was supposedly passed to Dallas. We also lost to your Packers in week 17 of the 2006 season and the Vikings just this past season. In recent years, I can remember these SNF wins: 05 vs. Atlanta 06 vs. Seattle 06 @ Giants 07 @ Green Bay 08 vs. Philadelphia 08 @ Colts So 6-3, which I guess is good, but hardly undefeated.
  8. Technically, the Bulls won. But they beat a Wizards team without Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood, Darius Songaila, Etan Thomas, and DeShawn Stevenson by 2 points. It's too late in the season to care about how we win games IMO. Just get the win and move onto the next game. Besides, the Bulls are an absolutely awful road team so any road victory is a godsend.
  9. Guess they are banking on the economy recovering during the next 3 years. I'm happy for the Marlins (even though I still hate them), but I'm surprised it passed in this economy after failing so many other times. Miami Marlins in 3 years.
  10. Yeah but we got Juan Pierre.
  11. Fukudome pops it up on the first pitch with runners on the corners and 0 outs.
  12. Is it just me or has this been one of the crappier NCAA tournaments in recent memory in terms of drama? Obviously those with horses still in the race are thinking differently, but the rest of the tourney has been blah.
  13. I would assume that even if he is erratic it won't be a long term Rich Hill type of ineffectiveness. I also assume if he's pitching like this in a week, Gregg will be the closer.
  14. Well I think everyone that posted in this thread was already well aware of that. But the Cubs have been stating he will be good enough to pitch in the regular season.
  15. Welcome back Sharpie! Hopefully his return gives the Hawks the boost they need.
  16. It's probably partially that, but it's also them realizing that they should start playing basketball at some point in the second half.
  17. They have to find some way to arrange the tournament so that Korea and Japan don't have to play 8 times in a tournament. It seems like every other day they are playing each other, and they will again if Japan beats the US tomorrow, which is fairly likely.
  18. Not a great sports day for me with UM and the Bulls losing and the Hawks just in general bad. Meh, whatever.
  19. The concern is that because of his slow start to cactus league action, his arm won't be ready to go the first run around the rotation. That's why missing yesterday's start is a big deal. I have read nothing that suggests that it was anything more than an illness, but this being the Cubs, its appropriate to speculate within reason (see: my post in yesterday's game thread)
  20. It's not fair. I am going to see Griffin in my nightmares for the next week.
  21. Yea UM can't hit shots anymore. Which is exactly what I thought would happen. I expect it to now even out in UMs factor now, unless OU can keep feeding the ball in the post to Griffin, who is just about unstoppable. For players like Griffin, they should be forced to enter the NBA draft immediately after it is determined that it's not fair for that player to play amongst such an inferior level of competition.
  22. Nothing alling for UM now, not even point blank shots.
  23. He's a beast. We have nothing to stop him. Nope...he's scored a couple times on UM triple teams. What a beast. He might end our season, but you have to respect his play.
  24. Now UM is shooting 38% and OU 45%
  25. Griffin taking over at the start of the second half, OU builds a 7 point lead early.
