  1. K...bases still loaded 2 outs
  2. Qualls with a horrific performance. 6 batters, 4 hits, 1 walk
  3. lol another single, tie game, bases still loaded 1 out.
  4. Oh and if Pujols gets out without a run scoring, Luckwick is available to PH
  5. Another single, 1 run scores. 1 out, bases loaded for Pujols. Wow Qualls blows.
  6. Bases are loaded for Rasmus. Pujols will get a shot unless Rasmus GIDPs
  7. 1st and 3rd 1 out for the Cardinals. Skip, Rasmus and then Pujols due up...
  8. Conor Jackson just hit a 3 run homer to give the DBacks a 6-4 lead. I told you they were due for a bullpen implosion.
  9. He needs to be sent down. I don't think he has any confidence anymore. He was a highly regarded prospect that was brought up too early and besides a hot month to start 08 he has proven that he's not ready for the bigs yet, and leaving him there to sink or swim isn't working.
  10. I have no idea how the Dbacks not only got to the playoffs in 07, but swept the Cubs. Ridiculous.
  11. Cardinals are due for a bullpen implosion sometime soon.
  12. I know he worked out with the Packers yesterday, but this is bizarre. Apparently he has one year of eligibility left, and is considering playing one year of college QB with hopes to have an NFL career. http://blogs.usatoday.com/thehuddle/2009/04/michigan-courting-greg-paulus-to-play-ncaa-football.html Wow, I'd go from completely hating the guy to slightly intrigued. I doubt he could start, but then again if he's this serious he must have some skill left over from HS.
  13. Posted in the Other Games thread, but it's not related to his shoulder. They said rib cage. I don't imagine it will be too series, but you never know. I say he'll miss 1-2 starts. Cards don't see to care who they throw out there. They are winning all kinds of games right now.
  14. Barry Melrose just picked the Blackhawks for his "Surprise team that could make the finals"
  15. Do you think this is the worst of the playoff teams the Bulls have had since the Jordan years? I honestly have no idea. I would probably say yes because the Bulls defense was much much better than in the other 3 seasons. Then again, they probably have the most offensive talent than any of the 4 teams. Alas, defense seems to be more important in the playoffs, so I probably say its somewhere in the middle. But I really have no idea...I cannot believe the Bulls are in this position. They were pretty much left for dead in February and the trade for Miller and Salmons really changed the structure of the team. I felt the worst about this team than any other playoff year. Even in 05-06 when we were hovering around 10 games below .500 before making a run, we still competed every night, played our butts off and played a team game. This team was all me-first, and still is in a way. But it got better once the Bulls started winning a couple of games and built a bit of confidence.
  16. Weird that the two teams we lost to this year are a combined 3-12 this year, and 1-8 when not playing the Cubs.
  17. Good, I would really hate to see him go down with another shoulder injury (seriously). From a Cubs fan standpoint, I'd love having Carp not in the rotation, but from a human standpoint, I'd hate to see him work so hard to return and then get injured again. I've seen enough of that with Cubs pitchers, don't need to see it happen again.
  18. It's so crazy that this is pretty much the best case scenario that the Bulls could have hoped for. Many people were hoping that the Bulls would just get the 8 seed. All the sudden we have the 6 seed if we win tomorrow. Since the Jordan years, we've been the 4th seed (04-05), 5th seed (06-07), 6th seed (08-09 if we win tom.) and 7th seed (05-06). Pretty sweet.
  19. I wouldn't get up for going to Cialis Field to watch the Cubs play.

Sucks that we couldn't have gotten Minnesota in the first 4 games of the season so we might play them without the Williams Wall. (are those suspensions still an issue?)
  21. Random off day? I'll be going to the Bengals/Bears game on the 25th of Oct. My gf's family has season tix :)
  22. Rose > Alston Gordon > Lee Salmons = Turkoglu Thomas < Lewis Noah < Howard Basketball is the hardest spot to break down simply by player by player comparisons though because while Thomas is not as good as Lewis, they both do different things and play different styles. Also Howard's advantage over Noah is much much greater than Rose's over Alston
  23. I hate the bias, but I understand why ESPN does it. They spend the most time covering the most popular teams because that is who is watching their programs. At the same time, true baseball fans don't only want to hear about their team, they want coverage of the entire league. This is why I am glad that the MLB Network exists as competition now. They still do have an east coast lean to their coverage, but its night and day compared to Baseball Tonight.
  24. Over on Yahoo Sports, Jim Fox is predicting the first round matchups. He picks the higher seed in every matchup except the Blackhawks matchup of course. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/playoffs/firstround/west/cgychi;_ylt=AtSCnaaKe2tAQDEeds6kacikxMEF
  25. After a dominating pitching performance in a soggy Wrigley Field, the Cubs look to sweep this 2 game series over the Rockies. They will face an old friend as everyone's favorite #5 starter Jason Marquis takes the bump for the Rockies. I will enjoy seeing the Cubs patient lineup getting ahead in the count almost every at bat as Marquis keeps desperately trying to nibble at the corners to no avail (something we know all too well about Marquis). Rich Harden takes the mound for the Cubs, trying to build on his excellent performance on Friday vs. Milwaukee. ARam and Soto should be back in the lineup, giving it more thunder. Milton Bradley however should still be on the bench for another couple games. Go Cubs!
