  1. Speaking of people you'd expect to regress...
  2. Aren't catchers a worry when they are in their early 30s and have a lot of catching innings in their knees? Soto is still only what 26?
  3. I have no idea who this is, or why I should be outraged. Chevy Chase's character in the Vacation movies. It'd be like buying a Henry Rowengartner Cubs jersey. I saw that the other day.
  4. Why was he your candidate for a downturn out of curiosity?
  5. His shoulder looked fine gunning out Duncan yesterday
  6. That was well hit, it just happened to barely be in the range of the SS. It won't be long until we stop posting statistics like "1-15" as he's gonna break out of this slump.
  7. Fontenot drops in the order as a result of his 0-14 slump I guess?
  8. Don't the brackets get reseeded after each round? Meaning that if the Ducks beat the Sharks, the Ducks would play the 2nd seeded Red Wings (assuming they advance), while the Hawks would play the Van/Stl winner.
  9. "Could" but won't. I was just reading the Calgary newspaper online and they seem to think it could be a suspension.
  10. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-17-cubs-milton-bradley-apr17,0,4364804.story The article goes on to say that the Cubs will try to fight it because the contact was incidental contact between the bill of Bradley's cap and the ump. Either way, if he gets suspended, it took all of 9 games for Bradley to both get injured and get suspended because of his temper.
  11. 2003 style. I am still trying to figure out which one is Mark Guthrie and which one is Dave Veres.
  12. Last year's Brewers didn't even have a Marmol. At least we have that.
  13. .500/.538/.900 with a 2B, HR and 3 RBI in his last 3 games. Of course 3 games is a small sample size, just as 9 games is a small sample size.
  14. I don't know if it's gonna happen. Their starting pitching is really really really good. I knew they were good before the season started...I am kicking myself for not realizing the sleeper potential they had.
  15. This is awesome...the Hawks made it through their opening jitters that they obviously had, they took Calgary's best shot, and still came back and won. Look to see a much more calm and in control Blackhawks team in Game 2.
  16. HAVLAT!!!! HAWKS WIN!!!! UP 1-0!!!! 12 SECONDS INTO OT!!
  17. Like the CSN guys said, he should have shot it right away and not have given the goalie time to set up for the shot,
  18. I can't believe I didn't go to this game :(
  19. Oh man, Bolland had a wide open shot and seconds to think about it with under 10 seconds left. Wow.
  20. I know...I get really happy when commercial time comes so I can breathe. I can't wait until the end of the 3rd period, assuming the Hawks and Flames go scoreless over the last 41.9
  21. Win or lose, this was a fantastic way for Chicago to get reintroduced to playoff hockey.
  22. There is no definite "right way" or "wrong way" to manage a baseball team. There are better ways than others, but there are a lot of different styles managers employ with regards to strategy. Lou does a lot of things well, much better than any of us who have never been in a major league clubhouse could do. But there also a lot of things that Lou does that we don't necessarily agree with. Like for one, a lot of us hate sending the runners in certain situations where Lou does run a lot. Just because we disagree with his style, we are not suggesting that we can manage the team better. It just means we don't agree about that aspect of his strategy.
  23. Chicago sports was on such a high. On Wednesday morning, a Chicago sports team hadn't lost since Friday. The Cubs started out 5-2, the Sox were even 4-3, the Hawks had the 4 seed and were ready to be overwhelming favorites in their playoff series, and the Bulls were almost a lock for the number 6 seed. All the had to do was win or have Philly lose to the best home team in the NBA. But on Wednesday the Cubs, Sox and Bulls lose while the 76ers won, dropping the Bulls to a 7 seed. Then on Thursday, the Cubs were beaten by their arch rivals, and now the Hawks are about to lose their first playoff game and look horrible in the process.
