  1. Well Cotts certainly tried to walk him, but Tavaras wouldn't let him
  2. Looks like we'll remained tied for first again. St. Louis just took a 5-4 lead over the Mets, after trailing 4-0 a couple innings ago.
  3. 4th time we've had the bases loaded tonight....and we've scored multiple runs two of those times...that's a good sign I guess.
  4. Yet it ends like so many Aaron Miles AB's....crappily.
  5. Yup...part of the reason why I never understood why a lot of people were picking the Reds for their darkhorse team.
  6. Wait....did I just see a Cubs reliever come in and not walk the first batter?
  7. Fonty still waiting for that first hit against a lefty this year. He's also 1 for his last 21, although he does have 9 walks in that span.
  8. Now that the initial excitement of the season starting is over, I am noticing these games are much less life and death for me than last year. If the Reds tie it up, I'm like "meh", if the Cubs take the lead I'm like "cool". Anyone else feeling that way.
  9. Cards coming back on the Mets....its 4-3 NY with the bases loaded for St. Louis
  10. What are the odds that a hit and run is called during this AB? Also, what are the odds it works in the Cubs favor?
  11. Yeah but last year was so bad, it erases the 2 prior years. Also, he was ok in 2007, but not worth the money he was getting.
  12. I still remember in 2004, during a Cubs/Marlins series, Miguel Cabrera, who was playing LF at the time, had a fly ball hit his way but clearly out of play. When the ball came down, Cabrera leaped up high for the ball, pretending that he had a real shot at it. Then when he landed, he threw his glove towards the ground, perfectly mimicing Alou the year before. What an ass.
  13. Gah...I have no idea why the Reds are 7-5, but we need to beat them down before they gain confidence and their hitting comes around.
  14. Gah, swung at balls 2 and 3. Sometimes, Soriano gets way too anxious up there with RISP and only has thoughts of hitting the ball. Othertimes, like in Milwaukee, he'll actually work the count.
  15. Nice. This is one time where having Soriano in the leadoff spot helps the Cubs. If we didn't have such a dangerous threat there, they could have pitched around Theriot, allow Harden to hit with 1 out, and then take your chances on getting a DP, or just a single out and facing the leadoff guy with 2 outs.
  16. Come on Theriot, we need 1 more this inning.
  17. Of course...hafta run on every 3-2 count, right Lou?
  18. I definitely agree looking at it from before the series. The problem is, when you win Game 1, expectations change. And then when you play with the Celtics down the stretch, expectations are now to win the game. Then when you are leading by 5 with 2:54 left, you expect to win the game. So when you lose its not as easy (at least at first) to say "well we did what we needed to do". But now that almost a day has passed, I feel a lot better about the fact that we took 1/2 in Boston, and in the other game where you knew Boston's intensity would be about as high as it could get, they took their best punch and easily could have won. I am not sure who is going to win the series, but I feel a lot better about Chicago's chances than I did a few days ago. Basically it is now a best of 5 series with Chicago holding HCA. However, I think the Bulls need to win another one in Boston to win the series IMO. They will not win all 3 home games.
  19. Not turning on..just mildly annoyed. Although I guess this is what I should have expected when we signed him, so whatever.
  20. get right out of town. yeah I guess I didn't need to use that disclaimer.
  21. I love how 3-5 days turns into at least 9. I know the conditions aren't right, but I'm starting to get a little frustrated. But I am generally an impatient person. Now that I think about it, we've only played 11 games and have had a lot of offdays so far. I just wish he wasn't hitting .060 in the games he has played.
  22. Duuuuuuudeeeee my hands look so weird
