  1. Thanks Jim Hendry for having a $140 mill payroll that still has Shark on the major league roster. wasn't Stevens the only one left in the pen at that time.
  2. Run? They haven't even gotten a single hit. Hitless since the 7th inning. I think the only base runner was a HBP on Ramirez.
  3. Chan Ho Park is on his way to 3 scoreless hitless innings. He of the 5.60 ERA and 1.50 WHIP
  4. I love how the offense continues to be inept day after day after day, and yet the only names we hear in trade talks are names like BJ Ryan and Sherill
  5. Were still averaging over 4 runs per game over the last 3 games!
  6. Man we really suck at offense. Even if we somehow made the playoffs we'd get wacked out in 3 games again.
  7. Just because Ted Lilly got rocked and the Cubs offense went scoreless for two innings doesn't mean the Nats series was a fluke. All it does is hurt momentum and shake our confidence a bit.
  8. yeah because Cubs fans were so pissed we didn't go after Ibanez in the offseason.
  9. I called that on the exact pitch. Lilly vs. Philly at CBP is an awful idea.
  10. Like Tree said, I like the Giants home unis the best. Road unis are usually pretty dull but I'd have to go with Baltimore's. I love how they now say "Baltimore" in orange on the front. Worst, I'd go with the Rockies home uniforms (I just think they look rather plain and the color scheme is dull) and obviously the Padres road uniforms are awful.
  11. Hill is the only Cub without a hit, including the pitcher.
  12. Yay for Badly not playing today.
  13. I'm just annoyed that Obama has welcomed and met like every sports team out there since he became president, and when the Cubs went to visit yesterday somehow Obama didn't have time to meet them.
  14. I like that Wells got back a win from one of games the bullpen blew earlier in the year.
  15. I just wish for one game this team would look like the 2008 team again offensively. Remember we'd have those games where we build like a 2-0 lead early, and then every inning we just kept getting runners on, working the count, etc. Before we know if we've tacked on 6-7 more runs and its a blowout. Nowadays, we get 2-3 good scoring opportunities a game and if we don't capatalize we're screwed.
  16. I love how us getting Soriao back in the lineup tonight is front page ESPN.com news, as if he either A) is a benefit to our team, or B) has missed a long period of time with the team.
  17. Well this was guaranteed to happen. Time to see what your made of rook. This is a pessimistic thought but if we lose this, we have Kevin Hart on the bump tomorrow to avoid the split in a series we really have to win.
  18. i don't see the league having much of a problem with the packers this year, really. Heh, we'll see about that. I like being under the radar. It worked in 2007 and I'm hoping it works again this year. Heh, no kidding. I think everyone in Green Bay has a quiet confidence about this year. they are better than last years record and they are healthy. I haven't seen too many knowledgeable football fans count the Packers out this year. The only question is the adjustment to the 3-4 scheme.
  19. yeah bit part of that was having Brandon Marshall to take some\most of the focus off of him
  20. Again I hate to complain after a win because I am happy we won but the offense worries me more and more by the day but still we are taking advantage of the nats like the other teams in our division have been doing. Go dbacks
  21. OMG, this is the stupidest 'controversey' since the one that used to post on this board. (actually I'm just kidding. She wasn't stupid. I just thought it sounded funny in my head.)
  22. Step 1: acquire washed up players who were good in 2004 Step 2: travel back in time to 2004; hope that traveling back in time reverts players to their 2004 abilities Step 3: immediately trade with real 2004 Cubs for Kent Mercker Step 4: profit
  23. Must've been something about his personal demeanor. Don't know why they'd DFA a guy with those numbers so far this year... maybe it was a Luis Vizcaino type situation? Did I miss something? What was the "Luis Vizcaino Situation"? He was released by the Cubs despite getting decent results in his brief tenure with the team because they didn't like the velocity on his pitches and believed he was getting people out on smoke and mirrors.
