So Rex Grossman was a game manager? He wasn't, he was a wild gunslinger who at times looked really good but the rest of the time was horrible and made a ton of mistakes. He did change a bit towards the end of his tenure here, and worked on limiting his mistakes. I honestly don't know if it was a coincidence or not, but Orton looked really really good to start last year and after his ankle injury looked like a completely different and awful QB. Check out his numbers broken down: Pre-injury: 7 games 143 completions 230 attempts 62.2% completion percentage 1,669 yards 238 yards per game 10 TD 4 INT 91.4 QB rating Post-injury 7 games 121 completions 221 attempts 54.8% completion percentage 1,195 yards 171 yards per game 8 TD 8 INT 67.2 QB rating I think the injury, and trying to come back too early on it caused him to play more tentatively, took a bit off of his throws, and made him worse. Of course we'll get to see this season, since he's starting out another season well (his QB rating for the year is around 91 after today). Maybe he's just a guy that fades as the season goes along. No way is Orton among the top half of QBs in this league, but I think he's towards the top of the next 15. Then again, I've been a Kyle Orton supporter since the day the Bears drafted him.
