    I definitely hate primetime games becauseyou have to wait all day and it makes me like my team is less connected to the rest of the league (I know that probably sounds weird). On the flip side, it is awesome to have something to look forward to at the very end of your weekend, or during a long Monday.

    looks like I got out of New Englad just in time because at 11:30 this morning there wasn't a drop of snow on the ground.

    Why not wait until the offseason? Maybe a player of Gaines' potential and upside isn't available in the offseason.

    I'm assuming Adams can't play DT? I don't see why we traded for a DE when Brown and Ogun are both holding their own. DT is the much better problem. Now we don't have a first and second round picks next year. On the positive side, we are getting a good young player. He's expensive, but short term I think we're under the cap anyways and plus everyone is saying next year will be uncapped anyways. This is the least scientific way to rate a player and it's not very exact or sometimes accurate, but for the purposes of judging relative talent, Madden's ratings have Adams as a 79 OVR, Ogunleye is 83 and Brown is 78.

    Just for fun, every ESPN.com and CBSsports.com person picks the Falcons to beat the Bears. Peter King is the only one I think I've seen in the media to pick the Bears.

    I can't believe no one is complaining about forgetting Chris Stynes. I watched opening day 2002 and I have never heard of him.

    Definitely love the tie, but I feel a bit bad for Costa Rica. I saw it was in the 5th minute of stoppage time, how many minutes of stoppage time were there? Couldn't be much more than 5. Poor Costa Ricans, at least they still have a shot.

    Would it be a shocker if the Vikings came out of nowhere and got TO? People are saying they expect TO to be had for as little as a 5th round pick, and if that's the case, the Vikings, due to having a 40 year old starting QB are likely to be making a run this year and wouldn't be concerned with giving up a 5th for a potentially dynamic WR (and while TO is definitely not close to the TO of 3-4 years ago, playing in the dome with a QB that has a gun, with his size he still causes matchup problems). It would also be ensuring the Bears don't get TO. I am not really for getting TO, but if only cost a 5th, and it would keep him away from Minnesota, I'd consider it.

    He did at the end of 07 when we were really think at DT and were already eliminated from the playoffs. I think he also made it in a game last year.

    I listened to Hub Arkush rip on the Bears on the radio today as he does every week. He called the Falcons his "lock of the week" and basically ripped on the Bears defense the whole time talking about how their offense vs. our defense is a huge huge mismatch. He called Tommie Harris a mediocre defensive tackle at this point (he's probably right), and said Matt Toeina is probably the best DT on the roster. One thing of interest that he said was that the Bears are surprisingly active in trade talks with other teams, though he declined to mention any team names or positions that they are looking for.

    I have mixed feelings about it, but somehow I have the feeling that this is gonna happen. I know the rumor is a media creation, but Angelo did have an interest in Burress. And although our receivers have been good, Cutler doesn't have that big target right now. I'm not counting on it by any means, but I just have a gut feeling. I don't think it will happen. It doesn't seem like a Bears move. They usually like to keep things controversy free at Halas Hall. That's not to say they've had troublemakers on the team before and kept them around, but I can't imagine them going out and getting a known malcontent.

    Uh, no offense, but that's been proven already whether or not they beat the Yankees. I know, but now that they've done it, I am rooting for them to go to the World Series.

    I'm rooting for the Angels as proof that just because you get destroyed in the first round every year it doesn't mean that you'll never get past the first round.

    Haha...I have seen two different power rankings so far this week where the idle Bears jump over the idle Packers. I wonder what happened during the bye week to make the Bears better then Packers in their minds.

    I can't remember if it was this game or the game the next day vs. the Reds (I was at both). But I remember the score being 0-0 or 1-0 and Sammy was up with the bases loaded and 2 outs, and he hit a towering fly ball and everyone in the park thought he hit a grand slam, but Kearns jumped up and caught the ball while banging into the ivy. It was like maybe 5 feet from being a granny. Blah.

    I was just surfing around some Falcons message boards reading their thoughts on the game. They seem very confident of victory (as they should coming off such a blowout road win over a halfway decent team), but they also seem to have enough respect for our team. The majority seems to think they are decent but not great. The weird thing I read is that they seem to fear Forte. They keep talking about if they can shut down Forte they have a shot. Should be an interesting game. Atlanta is 9-1 at home since the start of last season, so it's definitely not gonna be a walk in the park.

    We need better goalie play if we're gonna be more special than last year. Khabi was pretty good when he needed to be last year, I don't see it from Huet yet. And the thing that sucks is we can't go out and get a goalie unless his contract is very short.
