Tim Thomas is no longer a Bull. Assuming one max contract free agent, they'll have max FA, Rose, Noah, Deng, Gibson, Johnson, and a mid-first round draft pick. Also, what's the deal with Omer Asik? Isn't he slated to come over after this season? That leaves the roster at 8 players. Would they have enough money to sign someone like Morrow to fill the other guard spot, or someone like Lee to round out the front court, depending on what position their max contract guy is? He's no longer a Bulls but he's under contract (we bought him out). That's what I meant about losing him (his contract) Omer Asik broke his collarbone so he's currently not playing. His contract is up after the season though so who knows what's gonna happen but he'll probably be here.

Does anyone else wonder things like 'how are the Bulls going to have enough players to field a team if they let Miller, James, Tim Thomas, Tyrus Thomas, Pargo, Hunter and Brown go and use almost all of that cap space to sign a max FA? (Also in this scenario I'm assuming they move Salmons to make a max FA possible) Let's say the cap drops to $52 million. The Bulls would be at ~$31 million. After they spend $17.5 on a max FA, they are at $48.5 M for 7 players. I guess now that I'm typing this out it makes sense that they can get 5 players for $3.5 million, especially with a late 1st and the LLE and MLE (if available). Also, depending on timing they can always resign Miller, Pargo, Hunter or Brown over the cap.

That's rough, but you gotta figure going into that 4 game stretch you would take 2-2. Everyone has to play these teams at some point...luckily it looks like they are playing well when getting to this point in the schedule

Sopel is such a frustrating player. He looks so good on PK's at times, but he makes so many dumb mistakes that it's impossible to like him.

Bad penalty to take in OT. 4 on 3 until 30 seconds are left in the OT.

We've been playing a lot of OT lately. Not that these numbers are common in the NHL, but when the Hawks are going well, these happen seemingly every other night. It's been 13 games since the Hawks have won a game by more than 2 goals and 12 games since the Hawks scored more than 4 goals in a game.

Do other teams have trouble handling the puck when given a centering feed in front of the net as much as we do? I'm really asking. It seems like we have so many good opportunities wasted after we get the pass centered and it deflects off the stick and is cleared away. I know part of it is the defense guarding that area hand hacking excessively at the puck when it comes near there. That's why I was curious if other teams are better at that.

Yeah I was impressed. Indiana is awful and really shot themselves in the foot with their shot selection but this is a game the Bulls probably don't win earlier this year. Any road win is a quality win in my book for this team.

SOB, im watching the end of the Bulls game, so when I flipped over on commercial and saw the Hawks just scored, I assumed we were up 2-1. Dammit, I really hate Dallas. We can't stop their offense.

I might understand one of the three plus a prospect but anything higher then that and you are wasting assets. Look at last year's numbers. Was last year a fluke, is his defense not as solid as it was last year? He might be capable of putting up next years numbers with Seabrook and Keith in front of him. It's a fair opinion to worry about how much of an upgrade he is, and whether that's worth giving up prospects for the upgrade. The way I look at it is we need to make a move this offseason anyways, plus he's not just a short term upgrade, as he's signed beyond this year. If this could count as our move we need to make to get under the cap for next year, I'm for it. If not, then I'm probably not for it.
