  1. I thought that [expletive] only happened to my teams but I guess I'm proven wrong today.
  2. LOL @ Fresnos coach blabbing about how many BCS schools they've beaten this decade because he thought the BTN reporter was slighting his school.
  3. Wasn't this the first year Big Ten teams were allowed to play after Thanksgiving? Illinois must be the only ones who took advantage of it. Wisconsin is playing in Hawaii tonight/tomorrow morning.
  4. What a TD reception. That was like Kevin Dyson in the Super Bowl except he got that extra yard.
  5. What a great couple of games between Houston/ECU, Cinci/Pitt, Illinois/Fresno State
  6. Note that by posting what I'm about to I am in NO way implying what you think I am implying, just funny to note. Compare Derrick Rose's 2nd year so far with Kirk Hinrich's PPG RPG APG MPG FT% FG% Derrick Rose 15.6 2.9 5.4 34.8 83% 46% Kirk Hinrich 15.7 3.9 6.4 36.4 79% 40% Obviously Rose is the much more efficient player due to his shooting percentage, but it's strange to see his rate stats look so similar to Kirk's way back when.
  7. Too bad it's gonna be 3 years 21 million with a 10 million option for a 4th year.
  8. Not to mention that Cameron has about a 100 point lower OPS vs. righties than lefties over his career.
  9. Hawks have given their opponents 7 of the last 8 available points.
  10. And I'm going to be there. Hradek said Pittsburgh is better in all phases, citing centers, goalie and a push on defense. No mention of wingers. And I'm not sure how they can be considered better in goal and a push on defense when they've allowed 19 more goals in 3 more games. I'm not saying the Hawks definitely aren't better, but Hradek has the credibility of the Pens reaching the SC finals the last 2 years and last year winning it over the team that easily beat the Blackhawks in the WCF. I know last year was last year, but until the Hawks either beat the Pens head to head, or goto a Stanley Cup finals, I don't think it's outrageous at all to say that. That said, I think the Hawks are obviously a better team than last year, and when on top of their games certainly look like they have the deepest most complete team in hockey, although I have maybe seen parts of 3 Penguins games all year, not to mention San Jose, Washington and whoever else is up towards the top.
  11. Norway, 2 wins, 2 ties. Yup. Just kind of an odd country to have done it, and it's not even one game either. Norway's only made the WC three times (last in 1998) and advanced out of their group only once. They've also only qualified for the Euro Championships once The only other team to have beaten Brazil more times than they've lost is Hungary, with three wins, two losses and a tie. Wow that's odd. Norway has had semi-decent team's before though. Most notably in the 90's.
  12. The only way I see the USA not advancing is by losing to England and drawing against either of the other 2. And even then we'd only miss out on goal differential, and that's only if the team we draw is the same team that wins the Slovenia-Algeria matchup. I am of course assuming England rolls through those 2. So worse case scenario would be: England beats USA by multiple goals Slovenia beats Algeria by multiple goals USA draws Slovenia England beats Slovenia in a close matchup USA wins close game against Algeria If that scenario occured though, the US obviously wouldn't at all be playing it's best ball and wouldn't deserve to advance anyways.
  13. Maybe he hasn't spent money on one, but he has over-traded for one (Pierre) which is probably just as fatal of an error.
  14. Thank God. Like SSR said, I'm surprised Hendry is gonna let him pass through his fingertips at that amount. He must have been too busy eating donuts and other fattening food to notice Figgins is going to sign. (Get it? Henry is fat so he's always eating so much that he can't do this job! hahahahaha)
  15. The funny thing about USA's dream draw, is their lowest ranked team is higher ranked than any other pool's lowest ranked team.
  16. Wow what a switch of fortunes. Mexico/South Africa and USA/England meant sure doom, but arguably got the worst teams in Pools 3 and 4. This is making up for Italy, Czech Republic, Ghana in 2006.
  17. If it weren't for Mr. Miles debunking this rumor, I was gonna make a bet that Padilla signs for more money with the Cubs than Harden gets for another team.
  18. Haha my friend said he played soccer and basketball in HS with him. The HS is near St. Louis and Gray grew up a big Cardinals fan yuck.
  19. Did you forget why we made this trade (Miles) or that we had to pay AM $1 million not to play for us.
  20. Hahaha, I love how 3 of the first moves Hendry is gonna make this offseason are 1) not giving arb to Gregg essentially ending our relationship with him, 2) Dumping Aaron Miles and eating Jake Fox and $1 million, 3) soon to be trading Milton Bradley and eating a ton of his salary. How can a general manager f up that badly in one offseason? And how can he be allowed to fix the mess? Although I have no problem with any of the moves so far, I have a problem with the fact that they are messes we had to get rid of in the first place.
  21. Knowing nothing about these prospects, that's more than I thought we could ever get for Jake Fox. 3 minor leaguers, and they rid us of Miles? Wow. I would have traded him for the rights to rid ourselves of Miles alone.
  22. Selig either hits something right on the head or completely botches it. Having said that (curb reference), baseball will be in a better spot after he retires than before he started. He's still a boob though.
  23. No, but they don't lose their free agents either, and very few teams do spend huge on free agency. Chicago paid heavily for Tait and Muhammed, they stepped up for Ogunleye when he was holding out, they paid Urlacher and Briggs when most teams would let one walk. The reputation is left over from the Halas era, and the end of the Ditka era, when he blamed it all on cheapness. This organization doesn't have great owners, but in a salary cap game, there's very little an owner can do to make a positive difference. Good point....they pay their guys...no question. They paid heavily for Tait and Muhammed, though you can debate whether or not they were worth that...heh. But yeah...the point is the Bears weren't cheap in those situations....no doubt. Going back a little, but don't forget Bryan Cox. He was the largest contract in Bears history when they signed him as a FA. A huge bust, but a big name at the time.
  24. Anything about Pace? LG, kinda like to see that. Shaffer at RT. I heard on the radio this morning that Pace out with an injury. Yeah...Pace is out this week. Williams needs to play LT the rest of the season...you gotta see what you have there. And Gooney, you're right...the Bears have an unfair rep as cheapskates. That said, they aren't known for signing top free agents, making big name trades (till Cutler of course) and they haven't gotten the big name head coaches in the past (although that could be a factor of timing as much as anything). I would say that's changing...Lovie was a pretty hot name when he was hired, and they were about to hire Saban, who at the time was the big name out there. With the names out there, I'd be really nervous if I was Lovie. I'm pretty sure Wanny was a very hot name when the Bears hired him way back when.
  25. Am I the only one that doesn't really have too much interest in Granderson?
