  1. Funny thing to point out about the Nets futility. Not only did they start the season 0-18 and counting, but they also went 1-9 in the preseason. So if you include the preseason, they've gone 1-27 in the 28 games they've played this season. I'm starting to get scared that they'll get their first win against the Bulls next week.
  2. What an awful year for Michigan. The tourney isn't looking like a realistic option anymore. There is no way UM is going to play better than .500 in the Big 10 playing like this.
  3. Are they not going to be resigning Soriano or Gonzalez?
  4. Haha wtf? Edit: Whoops, I didn't see that posted above.
  5. I heard he got booed. He got booed but it was rather light. I think it's idiotic to boo him. What did he do to diss the Bulls? The only thing you can say is that he didn't accept that offer 2 years ago, but that was 2 years ago and he never expressed a desire to leave Chicago. The Bulls didnt offer Gordon a contract this offseason, the Pistons did. You can't hate on him for that.
  6. lol, Kerry Wood is at the Bulls game
  7. Was a formality, but it's still great to see. I am assuming since no corresponding move is made, no move is needed this year? Meaning, we can keep Versteeg or whoever else we were thinking of trading to get under the cap. Edit: Jesse Rogers claimed on ESPN radio that he hears someone is most likely being moved in the next 18hrs. to be cap compliant. However, I think a lot of this is just speculation right now.
  8. 10th times a charm!! Huet makes up for his crappy game in regulation with a stellar shootout
  9. This is like groundhog day... 8th time to win it... and 9th.....failure
  10. 6th time to win it....fu ladd 7th time now
  11. 5th time to win it...
  12. 4 chances to win it....3 of them involved scoring, 1 involved stopping
  13. Had 2 chances to win it and we couldnt.....3rd times a charm? Edit: nope
  14. Dammit I don't want to lose another shootout....I just lose all hope when we get there.
  15. The moment the Blackhawks reached the apex, crushing the Sharks on the road, I finally gave into the Stanley Cup hope and expectations. I went to bed that night dreaming of the Hawks lifting the cup and finally seeing another Chicago championship. Since then they've looked very 'meh'. Figures. At least we just tied it.
  16. That was a pretty goal from Versteeg. Nice stickwork.

  18. They chose the right player to use to show off the uniforms if you know what I mean.
  19. Couple of MLBTV Cubs related programs ahead. Tomorrow (12/2) at 2pm CST, they will be replaying the 1990 All Star Game at Wrigley Field. The game was one of the most boring ASGs of all time with the AL winning 2-0 and the NL being held to just 2 hits (1 by Sandberg I think), but still fun to see Wrigley in a ASG setting. Also, this Sunday from 1-5 PM CST they are replaying the famous 1984 Sandberg game against the Cardinals. So enjoy. On a semi-related note, I am half watching the 1988 ASG from Cincinnati right now, and I had absolutely no clue Palmeiro ever made an All Star game with the Cubs, but here he is PHing and walking during the game. Weird seeing Palmeiro in a Cubs uni.
  20. A catastrophic collapse might be the only way to get change. So yes, I'm on board with this. Plus it would be funny if we ended up with a top 7 pick and the Broncos took Bradford or Locker or Clausen and he became a HOF QB.
  21. Ha, I love reading that part. Its nice. I don't know why everyone was so down on Milwaukee this year. Possibly because it's a very small market, and the Bucks have been in NBA irrelevance for a number of years (since the ECF year). They were playing very well last year before injuries really tore them apart. They have a lot of young players and no me first superstars, a perfect roster for Skiles to coach to play hard and play defense. And they are playing well without Redd for most of the year. I don't mind the Bucks, except when the Bulls are playing them. They have an interesting team and I hope they can make some noise in the NBA this year.
  22. I believe there are good coaches, bad coaches, and average coaches. But I also believe there are coaches that are so far ahead of the rest, you'd be stupid not to hire them. I don't think Lovie is a bad coach, I think he's an average one. With a good team, he can get them to play as one and succeed. However on a bad team, or a team that is falling apart, or needs a schematic advantage to compete with more talented teams, he fails miserably. But Cower is someone who is one of those superior top of the line coaches. When you have an opportunity to hire a coach like that, you have to get him. If you can hire a coach that can consistently produce results at or above their talent level, a coach that can outscheme the opposing coach most games, a coach that can make successful adjustments on the fly, you have to. Coaches can affect a teams play. But only the creme of the crop can do that with any consistency.
  23. Give Rich Rod a couple more years. You'll be sorry you made this comment. He might not have a couple more years if he doesn't improve the team quickly. I'm not saying national title contender, but 8-4 would be a good start.
  24. The Bulls have a tough road trip. It is always tough. Yes Ben's scoring is going to be hard to overcome, but I am expecting more from Derrick as soon as his ankle fully heals up. I think that Ben's lack of defense is averaged out by the better defense Salmons will play. Give this team some time and I think they will be better than last year's team. Do you really think that a team's talent or lack of talent really draws free agents? I am pretty convinced that the bigger contract offer usually wins out. All the key FAs this offseason are going to get max deals, and there will be several teams offering the same amount. So yes I do believe the teams talent is a huge factor. It's the reason LeBron won't goto NY. Why would he take less money to join a team that is less equipped to win a championship than his current team?
  25. I hear Rich Rodriguez is interested in the job* *fake rumor that i made up to hope it somehow comes true
