The quotes I read said something to the effect of Bowman laughing when being asked if they came close to trading for a goalie. But fair enough. At least they tried. Sucks though. I probably had been willing to give up Sharp and/or Versteeg to get a goalie. That's how bad our goaltending situation is.

I don't know about Kane giving away a clear path to the goal in order to pass through traffic to Hossa. Sure Howard was in position but he turned a good attempt into no SOG and get rid of any person to capitalize on any rebounds.

I still can't believe they decided to play it safe at the deadline and not look for a goaltender. Everyone knows this is supposedly our best chance at a title most likely, why did they play it safe when it was blatantly obvious that goaltending was a gigantic issue for this team. It would be one thing if they tried and the price was too steep, but from Bowman's remarks, it seems like it wasn't really something they strongly considered. Typical Chicago team.

Maybe Huet purposely blew this game so that the Wings would move up in the playoff standings so we wouldn't face them in the first round.

Sadly...maybe. We have 2 marginal NHL goaltenders on our team. It's a major major major weakness on an otherwise solid team. It would be like if last year's Yankees team had Carlos Silva and Aaron Heilman to pitch all the team's bullpen innings for the entire season.

I know I'm ripping on Huet relentlessly, but the defense has been godawful lately. Campbell is pretty much solely to blame for that 4th goal. Remember when we thought the Hawks defense was a strength? It's playing like it's a major weakness right now.

4 goals for the Wings in like a 4 minute span. The guys on NBC are having a field day ripping on Huet and the Hawks goaltending in general. They seem to think the Hawks are going nowhere in the playoffs with these goaltenders. 4 goals on 8 shots this period for the Wings.
