  1. Morel is a baller for finishing off that AB when he was clearly in severe pain. Hopefully he didn't fracture something
  2. How we have scored today: -Fielder's choice -Fielder's choice -Balk -Wild pitch -Sacrifice fly
  3. Same, when that ball was in the air I was thinking "I wish anyone other than Gomes was on 3B right now"
  4. OK, would have liked to have gotten a hit but ill take the tie. 2 runs scored without a hit.
  5. Runner on 3rd out outs and Seiya takes strike 3 right over the plate. Unreal. Now they’re a ground ball from causing me to lose it
  6. Tying run on 3rd with no out. Gonna lose if it we don't at least tie it
  7. I believe that is the first time Gomes has reached base since May 11. 0 for his last 21 PA before that walk
  8. That’s pretty much accurate and one of the funniest things about the Sox horrible season.
  9. I don’t now know about having no life to them but they are remarkably deficient in so many areas. I can’t believe how poorly these pieces fit together and how exposed the holes on the roster get on a daily basis.
  10. Just catching up, horsefeathers Gomes is 12-79 with a 47% strikeout rate. Even as a backup catcher that’s atrocious especially when you consider he’s last in the league in framing runs and terrible at throwing out runners. He should not be on a major league roster anymore. Sorry Yan
  11. Nick "0 barrels in Chicago this year" Madrigal:
  12. Busch is also rated significantly higher defensively. As much as I value a power bat in the Cubs lineup, I've never seen the appeal of Pete Alonso on the Cubs for a variety of reasons.
  13. OK then he's the 12th best starter we've faced this year by FIP. Not saying he can't be hit...he just gave up 4 runs in 5 IP to the Brewers last week (shocker). Just kind of in awe of how effective he's been after being such a below average dude in Washington.
  14. He's 7th in baseball in pitcher bWAR at 2.6. The only starter we've faced this year with a higher bWAR is Houck from Boston. Obviously pitcher WAR is flawed but at least by that metric he's really solid. Kind of crazy, another one of those mediocre/bad starters that goes overseas and comes back much improved. 5.41 career ERA in 6 seasons with Washington, now one of the best starters in baseball so far this year.
  15. I think they had to go rummaging through the equipment locker to find it
  16. lol. And they just attempted to pick him off 1 pitch before. To be caught that off guard like that is insane to me.
  17. I look at it different in baseball than other sports. If a 15-1 NFL team needs a 20 point comeback to beat a 3-14 team, yeah that would be disappointing. but baseball is so different on a daily basis. Coming back from 5 runs down is great regardless of who they’re playing imo. I get it though, the Cubs have been extremely bad lately and so frustrations are heightened. Anyways, Cubs win. Glad I kept checking in and got to see the last couple innings. Hopefully this is the game that helps them start to build some momentum.
  18. Neris gives up some hard hit balls so he decides to nibble and walks the 9th place hitter. now a PR is coming in to test our catcher who can’t throw anyone out. ugh
  19. Neris giving up some loud contact. Hasn’t hurt them yet.
