  1. For several weeks it was being reported that our AD was behind Juwan and there was no discussion about him being let go. Juwan himself has been talking like he knows he's coming back. But this week a report came out that there was a lot of pressure behind the scenes for the AD (Warde) to get rid of him and that Warde wasn't willing to fight for him, though his preference would still be to keep him. So who knows. I feel like for off the court issues alone he should be canned. But when you consider how far the program has fallen in 3 years - based on many metrics this is the worst Michigan basketball team of all time, or at the very least since the mid-60s - he's gotta go.
  2. Sure hope so. I've been on this board for 21 years so most know I can be irrational but I'm at least slightly worried the Bears are doing something stupid.
  3. Well my college basketball season is over Wednesday of conference tournament week which is weird as hell. Some Michigan/DePaul combined stats: -11-53 overall record -3-39 conference record -1-30 record since January 16th -28 of the 30 losses were by 8+ points (ironically since DePaul was inarguably worse both the other losses were 1 point DePaul losses) Good riddance to the 2023-2024 college basketball season
  4. Sounded like the Bears were in on Gabe Davis until the end and even offered a similar contract to the one he signed. Did Poles just not have a backup plan at WR? I would have assumed that being in on Davis meant the Bears planned to sign a WR in FA
  5. Bears FINALLY do something at QB Wonder what this says, if anything, about Bagent.
  6. Like you said one game is a drop in the bucket so I doubt after 3 years on the team they needed to see that Wisdom can play adequate 3B and hit HRs. Certainly doesn't hurt his case though.
  7. Hunter Renfrow is being released by the Raiders. At first I thought that was someone we should go after but just realized his numbers have plummeted the last 2 years. In 2022 he missed 7 games so that makes sense and last year I suppose they had QB issues but 25 catches for 255 yards and 0 TD in 17 games is not gonna do it.
  8. Maybe things are starting to click a little. Obviously they’re nowhere near good or decent even but would be nice to finish the season with some improvement. Or perhaps they just played the 13th and 14th best teams in the conference and were due for a couple wins.
  9. I’m now wondering if the best possible outcome for Fields and the Bears is the Patriots take MHJ 3rd and trade for Fields on draft night. They have Brissett but Fields should get every opportunity to be the starter.
  10. Welp one target I was really hoping the Bears would splurge for. Really hope Poles draft picks turn out
  11. Another safety...and Simone Biles' fiancé
  12. So basically Caleb Williams may have screwed Fields (and the Bears) over by rescheduling his visit to the Bears. IIRC he was supposed to come to Halas Hall last week and the Bears really wanted him to come but he insisted on visiting next week. So now assuming the Bears continue the path of moving forward with Caleb, Fields won't have an option to be a starter anywhere and the Bears will likely get less in return for him. Possible that he wouldnt have been a starter regardless but I'm sure both Fields and the Bears would have preferred to have this resolved already.
  13. I really like Gerald Everett as a 2nd TE, however like pointed out not exactly a dire area of need.
  14. Drew Lock signed with the Giants so that's one less premium backup option for Fields (I'm defining this as backup with an opportunity to win the starting job). Seattle might be a good landing spot. I think Geno is the only QB currently on their roster. Maybe there are some good 3rd string options for Fields? 🤔
  15. We'll get something in FA. Even if you draft a WR in the 1st, the WR group is extremely thin. I know Poles has a way of ignoring position groups as you alluded to but i can't see him completely ignoring WR in FA. Time will tell if I'm right..
  16. I was just thinking the same thing. This entire offseason has been a really bad look for Fields.
  17. Bears number 2 WR is currently Equanimeous St. Brown or Tyler Scott.
  18. Interesting detail, looks like the Bears are WR shopping
  19. So much for Aaron Jones leaving the division, looks like he's signing with Minnesota.
  20. If you don’t like almost certainly wrong unfounded rumors just skip to the next post because it’s almost certainly bs that I’m wasting my time posting about. so….something called CTESPN which has 30k Twitter followers and some sort of affiliation with Antonio Brown and claims to have broken news before said this earlier this morning This is likely just like the Nestradamas ohtani to the Cubs crap but ngl I’m slightly nervous that a terrible organization is going to do something terrible. I swear it’s not the edibles talking
  21. 2022 offseason: why didn’t address WR? we have a glaring hole there *trades a 2nd for Claypool at the trade deadline* 2023 offseason: why don’t we address the pass rush? We have a glaring hole there *trades a 2nd for Sweat at the trade deadline* What position will we use our 2025 2nd rounder on?
  22. Rapoport reporting on TV that the Bears have not engaged in trade talks for Fields to this point and that they're still making sure Caleb Williams is their guy at number 1.
  23. Another edge rusher off the boards. Am I crazy in thinking the Bears are sitting out the rest of the first wave of FA? Haven't seen many rumors. It's also possible I'm being overly impatient.
