  1. Man I hate the camera angle at this park. Reminds me of the time they tried to move the CF camera at Wrigley for the 2016 NLDS.
  2. Steele injury update. Suppose it could be worse. just sucks because April is a tough month schedule wise
  3. Right. I can live with not spending money just to spend it but there was (still is) a real opportunity to basically take the division by the horns. Just have to hope that we can start to see more contributions from the vaunted farm system this year.
  4. FYI we have a Minor League forum with daily game threads here’s todays:
  5. Cool video of the Bears discussing who to draft with the pick they used on Hester Hester was of course selected with the Bears at 57 and become a HOF kick returner and added value on offense for a few years and a little bit defensively early in his career but not much. The Bears were clearly looking for a DB there as the other players discussed were DBs: Richard Marshall, picked with the very next pick by Carolina and Ashton Youboty, picked 70th by Buffalo. Marshall ended up having a 9 year career as a starting CB with solid stats but no Pro Bowls. Wouldn't have been a bad pick at all. Youboty played for 6 years but as a reserve mostly, no where near as much impact as Hester or Marshall.
  6. 100% agree with this. I rarely pay attention to what the announcers are blabbing about unless its a big moment in the game. The only thing I can remember the announcers talking about last night was their interview with Jung and I only remember that because Jung mentioned playing Fortnite which my kids heard and it caused them to cheer for him instead of the Cubs players. I saw the win probability thing but didnt really have an opinion on it either way. Certainly could have had more useful info there but whatever.
  7. I will forever hate the extra inning rule regardless but it doesn’t help that the Cubs are 1-43* since it was implemented * maybe exaggerated a little
  8. There's no reason to believe it will continue, but given how horrible the end of last season was, the last thing I wanted was to be reminded of it again on the first game of the next season lol
  9. Last September, the Cubs lost 5 games where they had an 8th inning or later lead, which was tied for the most in a month for any MLB team over the last 50 years. They also went 0-4 in extra innings in September. If the Rangers score here to win its like we picked right back up where we left off.
  10. of course he just misses a grand slam fml
  11. First reminder of how much I hate these stupid ass extra inning rules
  12. wtf are you talking about with a much better offense? The brewers have had a mediocre at best offense for years
  13. More like Badbert am I right? (jk love you adbert)
  14. Yep, ton of hard contact for outs early, the ground rule double that barely got over the wall costing the Cubs a run, our starter leaving the game early with an injury, some questionable ball/strike calls from the ump. I'll take it.
  15. ok now the ump is really pissing me off. That wasnt even close to a strike. Should be 2 on 2 outs Edit: and I guess a makeup call by the 1B ump lol
  16. Suboptimal 1-2-3 inning from the top of the order
  17. Also Nico had almost as much WAR last year as Gordon Beckham had in his entire 11 year career.
  18. Huh? It's the first game of the season, and Nico had a .382 OBP last September.
