Certainly looks great against the Rockies! Next 19 games will be a great test (LAD, SD, SEA, ARI, MIA, HOU), though I’m sure they’ll hold their own

Seiya is a horsefeathers monster. Who cares how cold it is or how badly the wind is blowing I guess.

The cubs get thrown out on the bases on run scoring hits way too often it feels like. I mean it’s fine we scored 4 runs, and it’s possible the adventurous baserunning is partially to make sure the runner scores (I think?) but it’s always slightly annoying.

This. Imanaga is going to give up some long balls this year but I absolutely attribute much of that hard contact on Monday to pitching to the conditions. Both pitchers gave up a lot of fly balls I believe.

At least where I work (Michigan/Wacker) it was gloomy and foggy all day until about 3 pm when it suddenly cleared up and was crystal clear. Most of the day I couldnt see the building across the street and then suddenly I could see all the way to Indiana from my office

I'm wondering if this particular game was listed as a night game so they could do a day/night DH if yesterday's game was rained out since there was not the traditional off day after the home opener. The Cubs charge a premium for Opening Day tickets so they've been good about trying to ensure that the Opening Day ticketholders attend the opening game. Not sure why Wednesday's is also a night game.

Blackmon continues to be a Cubs killer even if his damage has been limited. 3 really strong ABs for him today.

Lot of balls in the air (for both teams) during a game with the wind blowing in hards.

It's really only his 2nd? Was there also a misplay or something that was called a hit? I swear there's been something in every game he started at 3B. Not to mention several errors in Spring Training.
