The Cubs are not playing the best baseball right now but they’re still finding ways to win games. I’ll take it even if the viewing experience was a bit rough at times (though not Shota’s pitching) -

Do the Cubs fail on the contact play so often because they hit too many ground balls? Or at least the hitters that are coming up in these situations?

That’s the 9th runner thrown out between 3rd and home this year. no other team has more than 6

I don’t understand why we don’t send down Mastro for Vazquez. Maybe he won’t hit here but Mastro has a .421 OPS so not like he has a high bar to clear. He’s good defensively (or so I’m told) and he’s on the 40 man

Maybe the Ricketts will decide to spend more when he sees how much beer sales have dropped by having an offense that quickly gets out every inning. in reality he’ll balance that by downgrading our pitching to try to get more 11-9 type games
