  1. OMG!!!!! 74 minutes into the series and the Hawks go on a PP!
  2. Some awful looking shots taken by the Hawks GOOOOOAAAALL!!!! LADD!!!!
  3. I don't know if its the difference between NBC and Verses or the fact that it's a night game instead of a noon local time game but this place seems a lot louder tonight. Sharks killing us on good chances so far but I wouldn't say they were playing a ton better than us.
  4. Lets go Hawks!! Have a bad feeling about tonight, but I'm wrong all the time!
  5. yeah it would have been Farnsworth vs. Wilson but worse.
  6. Damn, it looks like Halak and the Canadiens luck is starting to run out. They still haven't scored in this series.
  7. It would have been funny if, after watching Hanley jogging, the LF sprinted over to the ball and got there before Hanley did.
  8. Yeah that's right, we won the last game of the 06 season against them, we swept them in 07 (the series where the fan attacked Howry after he blew a 5 run lead in the 9th), swept them in a 4 game series in 08, split a 2 game series in 09 (the first 2 home games of the year), and won the first yesterday
  9. I think the Wizards should definitely take Cole Aldrich
  10. God help us all. Will that "minor league deal" include multiple years and a no trade clause?
  11. Yeah, may I suggest "Kenny Butterwick's Tea and Crumpets Hour"
  12. My understanding is that this has been the book on Niemi for awhile. It doesn't sound like it's some big secret that they need to keep away from the media. It's kind of like a pitcher saying he wants to try to get Soriano to chase pitches out of the zone instead of throwing him a knee high fastball to get him out. I guess that makes sense. I just figured if this was really their gameplan, it's an advantage for Niemi to be prepared for that. Maybe not on shots from the point or whatever, but if a Sharks is on a breakaway, or has a clear look at the net, and Niemi is trying to guess, it narrows down his options. That said, the reason why I was questioning it is because I thought they might be saying that to get in his head making him think they are gonig high when they don't change a thing. Or it was just a couple of harmless comments that I'm taking way too seriously.
  13. Also, I found it a bit weird that I've read multiple times over the past 2 days quotes from the Sharks talking about how they need to keep the puck up when shooting on Niemi. It seems odd that they would repeat that multiple times to the media if they were really going to try to keep the puck up. Maybe they are just trying to get Niemi to think too much, expecting more shots up and then letting some soft shots go in lower in the goal.
  14. lol... this is funny to imagine because Niemi doesn't speak very much English.
  15. I'm sure it looks nicer from ground level. I'm guessing you knew this already but that's MJ's house in Highland Park.
  16. That's a fantastic house, but this one isn't bad either: http://www.chicagoist.com/images/2005_05_sports_mj_house.jpg
  17. Obviously it doesn't make me think we can make the playoffs. But it's good to see there is definitely still a good deal of confidence in that clubhouse.
  18. Bad. Mother. F***er. Such a lazy bat toss. It's weird to hear Ramirez called bad and not mean that he's literally just bad.
  19. No they weren't. They were mediocre. 4 sub .500 seasons, 3 95 loss seasons and only 1 90 win season. 3 playoff appearances in 10 years despite a substantial financial advantage over the competition. The Angels, Twins and Athletics had great 2000's, the Cubs just managed to not suck as much as they did the previous decade. I like how you make this response as if someone can be wrong for enjoying the Cubs in the 00's compared to the 90's. Oh it was definitely more fun than the 90's. Although I'd have to say for me personally 1998 was more fun than any year I've ever had as a Cubs fan. But probably because I was 15 and impressionable. Between a playoff run, the home run chase, Kerry Wood every 5 days, commerating Harry and Jack's passings, the 1 game playoffs, it was an exciting year for me. When Neifi Perez actually does something good you know it's a good season. That said, the 00's were much better. Just about every season in the decade I went in with playoff/championship hopes. You can't necessarily say that about the 90's. If the Yankees or Red Sox just had our decade though it would be a huge disapointment.
  20. Is that based on something or just a random percentage?
  21. I'm starting to get to the point where I start to get worried about the home games. I was reading how the players say they try to get too cute at home, trying to put on a show for the fans. I don't know if I buy that. I think it's more or less just a small sample size. But it is weird so see them outscored so far at home in the playoffs 20-15(17-14 without empty nets)
  22. STOP. I've heard that one before. Edit: When I read that article at first glance I thought the writer was making a joke. He's not even with an MLB team anymore and he's still taking liners off his elbow. We're going to read an article in 10 years that goes "Former Major League pitcher Mark Prior was mowing his law/watching TV/dropping a deuce when a line drive went off his elbow. The oft-injured pitcher said this will only set him back a couple of weeks in his attempt to return to the majors. Said Prior: 'it hurts a little less each time it happens. The bone can no reheal itself in 3 weeks without even having to go to a doctor."
  23. I'm trying to think of how many walkoff homers Aramis has had as a Cub. Just in the last couple of years, I remember one against Milwaukee in 07, one against the White Sox in 08, one against the Cardinals in 09, and tonight against the Rockies.
