  1. That and MJ didn't quit in the playoffs and then create a TV show where he announced he was leaving Chicago to play with Barkley and Ewing in Miami. LeBron was generally liked by a majority of NBA fans until the Decision.
  2. cant say I ever expected the Sixers to beat the Spurs
  3. dammit...could have made it 4-0 but the hawks couldnt score on a 2 man advantage
  4. What a stupid trend. A bunch of James Murphy ball washers walking around Williamsburg wearing jerseys of players they don't even know. What?! I've never seen a hipster wear a sports jersey. Pics or it's not true lol I cant tell if your serious, but if you are its not hard to find pictures
  5. Looks like the Hawks are starting another one of their teases. Up 3-0 to Dallas in the 1st period
  6. I havent been in this thread since the game was actually still in doubt and still haven't read a single word. And I am not going to read any responses because I will not be going into this thread again. I ask that you stop bumping this thread so I can forget about this damn football game.
  7. I feel interest in the Cubs greatly declining over the last year, but I don't see the Sox even coming close to take over in popularity.
  8. Yup his level of excellence right now in rare air. Most the time theres 3 levels of stardom, the elite stars, the superstars, and the stars. Right now LeBron is playing at his own level and the last time we've seen it was with MJ, when back in the early 90's bukie's rankings would replace Lebron with Jordan, and CP3 and Rose with Hakeem and Malone. In that era, there was Jordan and there was everyone else. And now it seems like that's the case with LeBron. Only people aren't in awe of him, and instead only want to discredit him because he's a POS.
  9. Deng should have been an all star this year.
  10. I think I'd rather have the rest of Soriano's contract than Fielder at 8 years, 200 million.
  11. Wonder why that is? Do people in the Western Conference, who see the Jazz 4 times a year, think that Deron is overrated or something? It's weird because other than Texas and Minnesota, every state with a West team chooses Sloan, even Tennessee and Louisiana who are sort of Western Conference outliers. Or maybe its because they compete with the Jazz and don't want Deron to play in Utah anymore. either way, Sloan is really old. The chances of him coaching longer than Deron Williams plays are slim to none. it would be pretty stupid to choose Sloan over Williams even if you were a huge Sloan fan.
  12. Also without putting much thought into it, probably best coach to never win a "coach of the year" award
  13. Now imagine if the Cubs drafted Pujols! Now that's a talented lineup!! That's true. They passed on him several times in the draft the Cardinals nabbed him. What could have been...
  14. I read somewhere that last year Frolik was considered an untouchable player for the Panthers. I know he's had a bad season. I wonder why the drop in performance.
  15. I don't think you understand. He previously did a lot of coke when he was a failed top pick of the Rays. His life bottomed out and he rejuvinated his career, swearing off intoxicants and accepting God in his life. After several all star years, he is now getting rewarded with a $24 million extension over the next 2 seasons. The joke is that he's gonna go out and blow it all on cocaine, which is what he probably would have done 5 seasons ago!!!
  16. yeah definitely seems like one of those 'hey jerry, we love you and all but..can you just make this easier on all of us and resign' resignations. But then again, he signed an extension fairly recently right?
  17. first thought: omg we are coach killers second thought: omg he's been the Jazz coach since I was 5. Never expected that to happen.
  18. Obviously it would also help to have a plan in place to upgrade the facilities for the home team at Wrigley in order to woo Pujols to sign here. If the Cubs are offering the most money, then they'll likely win (against anyone but STL), but if money is similar from multiple teams, you have to think little things like that are going to sway him. Especially because I remember him saying somewhat critical things about the facilities at Wrigley before.
  19. yeah this is not 2005 anymore. The only tickets that really command a high price are Cardinals weekend, Yankees, Red Sox, and White Sox, and even the Cardinals and White Sox tickets are only slightly inflated
  20. I'm not sure what point you are trying to make. A) Bulls fans say Denver would be stupid to hold onto Melo and lose him for nothing B) Bulls fans do not want to give up Noah for Melo C) Melo gets traded to Knicks for a mediocre return that we could have bettered without trading Noah Result: Bulls fans shouldn't get upset? What package do the Bulls have that could better what the Knicks are offering? What is NY's offer again? Wilson Chandler and at least 1 draft pick seem to be the only constants. Curry's expiring deal, Anthony Randolph, an additional draft pick, or the T-Wolves draft pick(in lieu of the Knicks) have been bandied about as additions. Well I don't know then. I havent really been paying close enough attention, but I thuoght that is what you were implying in your original post. Given the year Chandler has been having, I find it hard for the Bulls to match him even with Noah included (considering his extension and BYC status). Deng exceeds him in ability, but his contract makes his value dwarf Chandler's. The Bulls aren't really matched up to make a legit move for Carmelo unless Melo came out and said he wanted to come here more than anywhere else. Of the 5 carryovers from last year's Bulls team, Rose and Noah are virtually untradable for Pax, Taj is a good secondary piece for a trade, Deng has value but an awful contract that doesn't justify his worth, and James Johnson is a throw in at best. The best offer the Bulls can reasonably offer anyone (without Rose and Noah) is Deng, Taj, Brewer, and the Bobcats pick and/or a future Bulls 1st. That almost certanily not enough to beat a Knicks offer at this point.

  22. Without knowing anything else about it, statistically he looks a little like Versteeg albeit with declining numbers this year. 23. No discussion of the Asik for Courtney Lee rumor?
  24. I had high hopes for Skille a couple of years ago. At least he helped the Hawks out by getting traded. Great trade. Hopefully this will give us even a little scoring burst. Is he a 2 way player, aka is he any good defensively?
