  1. I remember back when we were obsessed with getting Peavy, a couple of posters commented on the injury concerns with Peavy and were quicky shot down. Looks like it was good that we didn't end up getting him.
  2. In what world are the Flames ahead of the Hawks? The hypothetical world that dexter created
  3. If you count NBA TV, parts of most of their games are available nationally with that nightly show they have "live look ins" to a majority of the games in a given night. If there is a tight Bulls game late, you will almost definitely be able to watch it on NBA TV. but yeah 39/82 games is pretty good coverage. And when you consider that only legit NBA fans are gonna be watching games that don't involve their favorite team, lets just say that any more than casual NBA fans have had ample opportunity to watch Derrick Rose and the Bulls this year.
  4. If the Hawks were down 1 point to Calgary with 2 games in hand I'm certainly going to say that the Hawks are ahead. Temporary the Flames are ahead because they've accumulated more points than the Hawks. When the Hawks make up those games and take the lead, then they will move ahead and be considered ahead of the Flames.
  5. i don't understand the point of saying that and ignoring games in hand. Thats just how I look at it. Being behind the pace still means you need to make up those points. If the Bulls were 49-19 and the Celtics 50-19, I would say the Bulls were a half game behind Boston but have played 1 less game. It's a big part of the equation no doubt, but being 2 points behind a team with a game in hand still requires them to make up those points.
  6. This race is really bunched up. Despite the win, the Hawks are just 1 point away from 9th place, and that's Dallas, who is even with the Hawks in games played. 4. Phoenix 89 +2 5. Chicago 86 0 6. Los Angeles 86 0 7. Nashville 86 +1 8. Anaheim 85 0 ---------------------- 9. Dallas 85 0 10.Calgary 84 +2
  7. Yeah I was stuck with the Phoenix broadcast, who were more preoccupied with their ownership situation than the game. God I hope that team moves to Winnipeg. WGN didn't give any updates on Sharp? They said it was a leg injury but didnt know much else other than that he was out for the game. $%$%$^ Anaheim beats Calgary in OT. I swear it seems like every [expletive] game between playoff contenders has ended in OT/SO lately
  8. I should mention one negative from tonight. Sharp left in the 1st with an injury and didn't return. Not sure the severity yet.
  9. Unbelievably HUGE 2 point. Regulation win against a team that's ahead of you. Amazing.
  10. YES!!!!! Beautiful execution on the power play! Campoli with his first Hawks goal! 2-1 lead with 6 mins left....good opportunity to get at least 1 point.
  11. Kane whiffs on a point blank shot in front of the net. Gah
  12. whoops wrong thread
  13. Tied up 1-1...couldnt escape the period with the lead. Dammit. Play has been fairly even today
  14. Do other teams have as many issues clearing the puck or are the Hawks alone in that regard?
  15. Jesus, apparently ESPN ripping endlessly on VCU gave them a bit of motivation.
  16. PP Goal!! 1-0 Hawks. So happy to get on the board first.
  17. This is how it could look if my extremely pessimistic projection pans out, the next time the Hawks step on the ice after today: 4. Phoenix 93 75 5. Nashville 88 74 6. Los Angeles 87 74 7. Calgary 86 75 8. Dallas 85 72 --------------------- 9. Anaheim 85 72 10.Chicago 84 72 And considering how everyone in this race has been lights out lately, and considering some of the matchups going on, its not a stretch that this would happen if we lost tonight. It's probably not as bad as it seems. Calgary will continue to have 3 more games played than us, so at only 2 points ahead of us, we might as well have their playoff spot.
  18. Ignoring games in hand, which are very important of course, but Calgary and Anaheim, the 9th and 10th teams in the west play tonight. This means that if the hawks do not get at least 1 point tonight, they will find themselves out of the playoffs at the end of the night. I'm pretty sure that since the hawks last played on Thursday, every single thing that occured has gone against the Blackhawks interests. Plus, after today the Hawks have another 2 days off between games, so (again ignoring games in hand), the Hawks will surely be playing catchup from 9th or 10th place even if they win tonight.
  19. Yeah, I was hoping for kick out to Novak for a three. Can't blame Morris for the shot, but there were def a couple M players open for a 3. I cant blame Morris for the shot, but when you are a good 3 point shooting team and a heavy underdog and you can beat Duke by hitting a 3, you have to shoot that. The chances of beating Duke in an OT are what 35/65? Which is about the odds of hitting a 3 there.
  20. Damn, should have shot a 3. Fantastic ending though. Can't complain about having a chance to goto OT or win against Duke. Would have been amazing to win though. The future is bright for UM....of course thats what I thought after losing ok OU 2 years ago.
  21. If only Michigan could hit a single 3 pointer in the entire 2nd half they might be in a good position.
  22. Yup...I'm really impressed by Smotrycz. Only a Freshman, should be a solid contributor next year
  23. And Duke with their 7th and 1 in a row
  24. Tim Hardaway Jr getting destroyed by a killer crossover is a touch of irony isnt it?
  25. Been waiting for this run to happen. Duke is unstoppable right now.
