    Yet we're tied for first. I don't want to get irrationally hopeful that this team could compete if Wells and Cashner come back healthy and effective. All the Cubs have to be to be competitive is mediocre. It is not going to take much to win this division. Maybe...but 9-9 playing the Pirates, Diamondbacks, Brewers, Astros, Rockies, and Padres is probably not good enough because the Phillies, Braves, Giants, Dodgers, Yankees and Red Sox are still on the schedule.

    Pretty soon I'm gonna start cursing Byrd for driving in that lone run and subjecting us to extra time watching this crap. 3 runs scored combined in 19.5 full innings of baseball, 117 outs

    I feel like the last 5 Padres to reach base stole second, and 4 of them reached on an IF hit or walk.

    What position player do you think will be throwing in the 17th inning of this game? I guess Casey Coleman could pitch...it would be 3 days rest in between starts. We have an off day tomorrow so Dempster could go on regular rest on Friday.

    I'm guessing Mateo will have to go a couple of innings, Shark an inning depending on how many innings it takes to blow this one, Grablow an inning, Woody an inning and Marmol and inning. That's assuming Russell can go 3 innings this time.

    It would actually be more fun for me to see the Canucks lose, unless it was to the Red Wings, if that makes any sense.

    I don't like Rondo because I hate how people overrated him. I didn't like the Celtics, I hated that they traded everything away to get the Big 3 in place, and it made me mad that one of the few pieces they held onto turned into an All Star. I hated the Rondo vs. Rose argument because they were 2 different players, and I could see Rose's potential, so whether I was right or wrong, I always thought Rose was the better player. It's not a "point" as much as it is a breakdown of my dislike for Rondo.

    He's given up 3 runs in 9 outings this year, 2 in 1 and one today. He has 6 walks and 14 strikeouts. 2 blown saves where a runner he walks scored. 6 walks in ~9IP is good (for him) tho.

    This is what I worried about last year...Marmol's walking has caused bad things to happen this year, whereas last year he got out of a ton of his created jams. Also, whoever noticed the number of IF singles, I agree. Even the other night there were quite a few...wtf.

    He won't be hitting 6th. or 5th He certainly won't be hitting 3rd. We have Marlon Byrd! Based on his start this year, he'll be hitting 7th this year. But only because catchers have to hit 8th.

    For Castro I think I'd make that exception. Just Castro? You are a Packer fan afterall.

    True....sometimes he even makes some of those layups too. Rondo is fine...everyone rushing to overrate him the last few years is my only major issue with him. At least now that no one is dumb enough to argue Rondo > or = Rose anymore.

    Higher FG% from 16-23 feet than Rose. Rose: 08-09: 43% (13th) 09-10: 44% (5th) 10-11: 38% (21st) Rondo: 08-09: 40% (22nd) 09-10: 33% (35th) 10-11: 41% (10th) Actually not bad. Rose has still hit more (and take a crap more and has been assisted on a lot less) over a 3 year period.

    It's just fun to tee off on Luongo whether you are up 3-0 or down 0-3. Also its a gentle reminder, "hey we might suck this year but we can still embarrass you horribly."

    We have as many titles as Celtic losses to .500 or worse teams in the playoffs in 08 and 09.

    Congrats on taking 7 games to defeat a 41 win team with home court advantage. At least they had 4 more wins than the team that took you to 7 the year before.
