  1. LOL! http://fastcache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/11/2011/04/61019026-1.jpg
  2. Congrats on taking 7 games to defeat a 41 win team with home court advantage. At least they had 4 more wins than the team that took you to 7 the year before.
  3. Seriously? You're declaring the outcome of games in April? people do that all the time for fun when the schedule comes out. we're never right but whatever.
  4. At free throws. Or jumpers. Free throws are worth less than layups you know. It's ok, you had to take 9 years off from basketball, you probably forgot. True, Rondo is masterful at making layups http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnO63rOFWik&feature=related (1:20 in)
  5. I posted this on RealGM yesterday, but basically I put together some simple stats looking at the ten 1/8 series over the last 5 years. -#1 teams are of course 9-1 in those series (Dal/GS being the exception) -#1 teams are 38-14 in their series, which comes to an average series of 4-1 in favor of the top seeds -The average differential of all games in all series is +7 points -Going through each individual series, here are the point differentials for the series, from highest to lowest: 16 (CLE/DET) 13 (LAL/DEN) 12 (BOS/ATL) 9 (CLE/CHI) 9 (LAL/UTA) 9 (DET/ORL) 8 (DET/MIL) 4 (SA/SAC) 2 (LAL/OKC) -7 (DAL/GS) Of the 10 series: -3 were sweeps -3 were won in 5 games -2 were won in 6 games -1 was won in 7 games -1 was lost in 6 games Right now the Bulls differential for the series is 5.5 points, which would be amongst the closer series of the last 5 years, but so far we haven't lost. Based on the last 10 series, there is only a 30% chance to sweep the series, so it's nothing to be ashamed about if we drop one this weekend in Indy.
  6. being swept in the first round of the post season? That really hurt, no question, but I don't think of it as sad, looking back. as heartbreaking as it was, playoff games at wrigley are fun Yeah I've been to two Cubs playoff games, both losses, and had absolutely no fun. All the beer in the world doesn't make it fun to experience the collective soul of Wrigley being torn away off the bat of James Loney, nor does being down 0-2 in the series and have some .193 hitter homer on the first pitch of the game. At least that game was like 85 degrees out though.
  7. SOB why does James Russell have to pitch the game I'm going to?
  8. Series is kind of similar to the Sharks/Wings series last year. Wings dropped the first 3 games all by 1 goal, in games that could have gone either way. Wings stayed alive with a 7-1 win in game 4. Hopefully the same fate the Wings had doesnt happen to us (lost another 1 goal game)
  9. I hate the Knicks so much that even though I am not a big fan of the Celtics, and the fact that the Celtics losing would be better for our playoff prospects, I am still cheering for Boston.
  10. .Luongo has had a fantastic series but when he allows a goal or two, the floodgates open. We have been pushing him and pushing him all series and finally he's broken.
  11. Hahaha well a least we could make Luongo look like a moron once this series. Where were these goals in the last 3 games?
  12. I feel like they will close us out in Vancouver, but if we can get this back to Chicago... The odds are greatly greatly against us, but of the 4 times a team has come back from 3-0 to win the series, 3 have been hockey teams.
  13. Pretend its game 3 We win this one I'll be much more pumped for the next one. This games just kind of meh to me. Thursday would be epic if we can pull this off. Bulls-Pacers game 3 at 6 and Blackhawks-Canucks at 9. Almost perfect. Gives you time to watch a bit of the post-game for the Bulls or pre-game for the Hawks before switching over.
  14. Pretend its game 3
  15. I'll take that. Nice pass Kane. And Campbell actually caught that pass after the last probably 10 hawks passes were not fielded cleanly WOW!!!! 2 in a ROW in 17 seconds from blue liners!!!!
  16. Really? It was deflected twice and ended up in the upper corner of the net. Yeah I'm an idiot. I should have edited that post once I saw the replay before someone called me out on it.
  17. Nice poise Keith. This is a complete reversal of last year
  18. You gotta stop that Crawford 1-1
  19. Wow Bickell that was a fantastic goal. You aren't talented enough to do that! 1-0 Hawks
  20. its so weird actually seeing you talk about the celtics
  21. Also, 3 of our 4 projected primetime games are on the road
  22. That game at GB is on xmas night. Tough first 3 games. We play the entire AFC West in 4 consecutive weeks? Wow
  23. It's terrible in the sense that it handcuffed the rest of the team and we had to rely on fringe NHL talent on the third and fourth line. While it may not be a terrible contract on the open market, it's absolutely a terrible contract with this team. You have a Norris Trophy caliber defenseman as your #1 defender and he's paid like one (even though he didnt play like one this year), you have a fantastic (IMO) compliment to him as your #2 guy, who is now being paid like one. You have a young #3 defender who played really well last year making something like 3.75m. That's fine too. But then your 4th defender is making more than the other 3, and is skating into the defensive zone like a forward and gives you negative in terms of physical play, doesn't get in front of shots very often, and the next time a hit by him knocks the glass loose will be the first time. If he was making $3m a year, he'd be a valuable piece for what he is. At 7 million, he pretty much better cover his role and Kris Versteeg's. In what world is Hammer a better defenseman than Campbell? 51 had the highest +/- on the team. I dont think he is. Hammer had a bad year this year. I'm saying that you have those 3 defensemen, its crazy to have part of your 2nd defensive pairing making more than the other 3 guys. I misphrased that.
  24. i believe I read that NFL schedules are being released at 6pm today. Assuming there is a season, here are some tidbits released: -Jets/Cowboys in NY on SNF in week 1 (Jets schedule that is known W1: vs. DAL, W2: vs. JAX, W3: @ OAK, W4: @ BAL, W5: @ NE, W8: Bye, W17: @ MIA) -Redskins/Giants in DC on 9/11 -Bears/Buccaneers in London on October 23rd in London -Bears @ Lions on MNF on Oct 10 (wow)
