Am I reading this right? You would trade Marmol for Colby Rasmus? He's a career .259 hitter, doesn't get on base at a real good level, doesn't steal bases, and is only a 20 HR power guy. I've got to believe you're massively overrating his trade value.. Maybe I am wrong? I mean, I think Jackson could be brought up and put up similar numbers w/ a bit less power. Colby was the #3 prospect in baseball 2 years ago, and had a pretty solid .859 OPS in his first full season in the bigs. His .363 OBP last year seems to show that he can get on base at least slightly above average (not sure what his isolated discipline was but he his OBP was ~90 points higher than his BA). He has had a tough season but he's only 24 and I believe is pretty good in CF. If they are giving up on a player like that, I would trade an overpaid closer for him, as much as I loved Marmol during his time here.
