  1. Illinois can't miss all the sudden.
  2. 2 points in the first 5 minutes? Geez.
  3. I doubt it, probably will be a replay of the other night - Illini hang in there, Michigan starts getting a bunch calls, their coach, who actually has an active brain cell, realizes this and has everything going to the hoop - game over. I'm still pissed about the other night, when the officiating was called in such a manner, you've got to be just as aggressive and force them to make calls. It's a way of exposing one way officiating I think. Ha! If by "going to the hoop" you mean continue to shoot long 3 pointers every possession, you are correct.
  4. The Mariners pitchers and catchers officially reported yesterday so baseball has officially begun. What's weird is that no other team reports for an entire week. Are the Mariners playing any international exhibition that I am not aware of?
  5. I'm not sure how you can call a 20 pt, 8 assist, 6 rebound performance not very good He was pretty good, but like I pointed out about, he shot 8-24 and had 6 turnovers. That really brings down the performance. But still had solid numbers. I think he had 3 steals as well. Compared to his other 4 games the performance wasn't great, but overall it was pretty good.
  6. His turnovers have been a fairly glaring issue. In 4 starts he's already had an 8 turnover game and two separate 6 turnover games. We all knew he wasn't going to shoot 56% every game like he has so far during this run, so going 8-24 is just evening things out.
  7. Count me in as loving the direction we are taking. I also like several of the moves the Cubs have made, but I am still disappointed that we could not sign a couple of veterans on short term contracts to at least field a competitive team out there, as long as those veterans were not blocking someone more deserving. As I've said here many times before, ideally you sign them and then ship them out in July. It's almost like you are buying prospects and getting a half year of a decent player as well.
  8. Who does everyone predict is going to be the odd man out in the rotation? My first guess is Volstad will be, but if not him it will be Wells.
  9. Pretty good rant. You bring up an interesting point about the Flyers. The Blackhawks are a bit stale I agree. They just don't see to have that hunger that they had before winning the Cup. They also don't seem to be playing well as a team. The defense is just miserable. They are 25th in the league in goals allowed and have been getting worse as the season has gone along. There are breakdowns everywhere, and most of the time its mental gaffes that simply aren't excusable. I would love to blow up this core and start over again. We still have a lot of great assets and the cap situation is good, so we are still in a good position long term. I don't think there's any way the Hawks trade Kane, but I think everyone else should be on the market besides Toews of course who is a true superstar and most of the time appears to be the only guy that really cares.
  10. Tomorrow totally seems like a situation where everyone counts out the Illini and they respond by randomly beating a ranked team on the road (Michigan).
  11. Not sure if anyone saw this but an SI columnist was talking about Q's job security, or lack of the other day. I generally like Q but the Hawks are in an unacceptable free fall that is showing no signs of getting better. I wonder if the players have tuned him out at this point. A losing streak for a decent team like this is not all about lack of talent, there's usually something at play behind the scenes fracturing the team.
  12. I don't think the Chicago Blackhawks are going to win this game.
  13. If Colorado wins tonight (they are tied right now), and the Hawks lose as expected, the Hawks will be just 4 points up on a playoff spot at the end of the night. They are funbad at this point.
  14. It's like the nightmare just picks up where it left off the previous game. I don't know whats going to stop this pathetic spiral. Maybe returning home. Who knows?
  15. Is it just me or does it feel like some combination of Kansas, Baylor and Missouri are playing each other every other day.
  16. lmao, I completely forgot there was a game tonight until I got the "Blackhawks lose" text from the Hawks. What a horrific slide. I'm sure we won't be this bad the rest of the year but I am not sure if we'll be good enough to hold onto a playoff spot. Revised trip prediction: 0-9-1 So far we are what? 0-4-1?
  17. Trying to help the Bulls get the #1 pick in 4 years.
  18. Figures. It didn't feel right the last couple of games having only 1 starter out. Now we're back to normal with 2 out.
  19. Kind of excited to see NW improve to 15-8 (5-6). It's still a longshot but they are in a much better position for the NCAAs then they were 2 weeks ago. With their SOS and RPI, they might be in this until selection Sunday. Cheering for them in every non-Michigan game the rest of the way.
  20. Whose to say the Cubs didn't fly someone down there to talk with him?
  21. I pulled some selected quotes from that Knicks forum regarding Lin. Good stuff. And by far my favorite one: Wow...just wow. Imagine if John Lucas got some burn in NY.
  22. Several years too late. His offensive numbers in 06-07 blow away his numbers this year, and his D was very good, if not to this year's standards. Chicago won 49 games that year and had no All Stars, so its not difficult to suggest that he should have represented the Bulls. 06-07: 18.8 PPG, 7.1 RPG, 2.5 APG, .517 (!!) FG%, .143 3PT% (only attempted seven 3's), 18.7 PER 11-12: 16.0 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 2.5 APG, .439 FG%, .371 3PT%, 16.29 PER. This is not to say he doesn't deserve it this year because he definitely does. But his monster year in 07 went unrewarded.
  23. I thought that was pretty obvious.
  24. From a hoops standpoint i think we are almost as good as them. Their guys know how to get the whistle and ours dont. And they have LeBron who can neutralize DRose in end game situations. We don't have 2 guys who can keep LBJ and Wade in check the whole game. Overall, we're very close, but the last 3 times the Bulls have played the Heat, Bulls have basically been terrible at the end of the game. That's not a coincidence. Ugh, not this argument again. There was a thread on RealGM after the last Heat game that refutes this...having trouble finding it at the moment. And even if that was completely true, you act like this is written in stone and will never change. Rose will never be able to do anything with LeBron defending him. The kid is 23 and still evolving his game, its very plausible that Rose can find a way to succeed with LeBron guarding him.
  25. Neat. That will go nicely with that road accomplishment a couple of years ago. I think that one was 'first team to ever win 5 consecutive road games (with no home games in between) against teams above .500'.
