  1. thanks for reminding me. they will put this on podcast later today. I have listened to his first 2 shows and have found him to be very entertaining.
  2. I just want to ask....am I the only one that's lost a week because the MNF QB loses 2 yards rushing by taking 2 knees at the end of the game? I was up by 0.15 points when Turner rushed for a 1st down with under a minute left. Matt Ryan takes a knee....I'm up 0.05 points now. And now with under 20 seconds left, he takes another knee. I lose by 0.05 points. FML
  3. Twitter saying a 10:40 start. Geez. Imagine if the game went as long as yesterday's.
  4. lol. I'd imagine those damn ushers will be trying to keep everyone in the seats they paid for. I am thinking about walking down there and seeing if they'll just let me in.
  5. PS, this has gotta be AramisFan's right?
  6. Start time about midnight according to the radar... no mutual off days though so they'll have to wait it out They won't start a game at midnight. The Pirates are looking unlikely to make the playoffs, so the game will just be cancelled unless they're within half a game of the wild card, in which case they'll make it up on the day off before the playoffs. I thought in order to implement the 2nd wild card they couldnt have a day off after the season to mak up rainouts. The season ends on a Wednesday, the new Wild Card game is on a Friday, and the LDS start on Saturday. So I guess if the Pirates were 1/2 game out they could play the makeup there, but if it led to them tying for a WC, it would be a huge mess. Very unlikely scenario though that I doubt the MLB is very worried about happening.
  7. Did anyone else know there's a site that does win probabiliy charts for NFL games, similar to Fangraphs for baseball? Pretty cool...here is a link to the one from the Patriots Cardinals game yesterday: http://live.advancednflstats.com/index.php?gameid1=2012091602
  8. Well I guess that could mean it's better or worse. Did he say which? Better
  9. I do...and I think I drank too much last night because despite watching Red zone literally every week last season and last week as well, it took me an hour into the games to click with me that I could put it on.
  10. Ugh, putting games like Minnesota vs. Indy on for anyone other than people in Minnesota or Indianapolis should be banned. Every other FOX game would be preferable to this in Chicago.
  11. ABC just showed these numbers about the Big 10: -4-17 vs. non-conference top 10 opponents since 2006 Bowl Games -1-8 in last 9 Rose Bowl appearances -15 of 26 wins this season have come vs. FCS or MAC opponents -4-8 vs. BCS AQ opponents this season (3 wins by Northwestern and the 4th was Ohio State barely getting by a below average Cal team at home)
  12. Would would have thought that through 3 weeks, the only remaining unbeatens in the Big 10 are Northwestern, Minnesota and Ohio State?
  13. Wow this thread was dead today. Anyways, USC goes down, should we just hand the crown to Alabama right now, or do we have to watch Alabama and LSU 2 more times this year?
  14. Good stuff. Dave Kaplan was railing on Cutler a few Minutes ago for yelling at Webb and kept saying "ask yourself this: would Peyton manning yell at his lineman like that?". I almost called in and read your post on the radio but I didn't want to pop my talk radio cherry talking to Dave Kaplan. Also his reasoning for why it was wrong was that a bunch of players spoke out against it. He said something like "when a bunch of players speak out about something like this, you are clearly in the wrong". Umm Dave...the last time a bunch of players came out against Cutlers actions it was them yelling at him for "quitting the NFC championship game". Later we learn he tore his MCL. We're they right in that instance? Dave Kaplan, who you crappin?
  15. It'd be really nice if Castro could finish with at least 15 this year and improve to 20 next year.
  16. I was just thinking about how in recent Chicago sports, things have a way of going from extreme high point to extreme low in the span of one game or one moment lately. Examples: -Bears start out 3-0 including wins at Dallas and against everyone's favorites the Packers on MNF, team is riding high and then the next game they play the Giants, who completely embarass the Bears offensive line, knock Cutler out of the game after sacking him 9 times, hold the Bears to 3 points in a dominating win. Fans go from feeling very good about the Bears to 'wtf' -Bears win 5 straight in increasingly impressive fashion last year, improving to 7-3 and everyone is starting to consider the Bears a sleeper in team in the NFC. Minutes after the most recent win, its revealed Cutler broke his thumb, season over. Bears go 1-5 and miss the playoffs -Bulls perservere through a tough, injury filled year but impressively still finish with the best record in the NBA, everyone is finally healthy for the playoffs, everyone is high on the Bulls, Rose is back and looks really good as the Bulls dismantle the 76ers. Bulls fans start anticipating a championship run and....Derrick Rose destroys his knee and it changes the fate of multiple seasons. Big high to big low Now this. Not to say that the season is over or that the Bears cant recover from a week 2 poor performance. It's just strange how many times I've had to shift from an emotional high to a crushing low. They don't lose in a way that makes you say 'we just need to do a couple things better and we'll be ok'. We go from 'we have a big boy offense, we can be the team to beat in this division' to 'tice sucks, o-line sucks, fire lovie, wtf marshall, i hate everything' over the span of 60 minutes. (Honorable mentions: 1) Bears crush Falcons in week 1 and everyone talks about how the Bears are legit team and a contender, then have a similar but smaller Giants game-like breakdown in NO and get beaten soundly, but the Bears obviously recovered 2) Bulls blowout the Heat in game 1 of the ECF and fans start to realistically think the Bulls can win the title this year, then lose 4 straight to end the season, but that was more like a slow painful crushing)
  17. ? Downloaded last nights post game. It's pure comedy. Thank you so much for reminding me that its on iTunes. I'm going to enjoy the afternoon.
  18. It's almost impossible to remember 1997 Woodson
  19. This is true. The Forte loss was very advantageous for the Packers, although it seemed to occur seamlessly with Bush taking up the slack. Seriously, I'm angry at Marshall for missing that catch in the end zone. I know it's just one play and I'll get over it. But damn, we needed that, and it would have changed this game. Brandon needs to catch his STUFF. He really should have been targeted more. I'm quite interested as to why the Bears chose not to utilize him. He couldnt get open. Jay does everything he can to throw the ball to Marshall, if he was open he would have gotten plenty of looks. Marshall sucked tonight.
  20. I don't really watch the Bears unless they're playing the Packers, but is Cutler always this hot or cold? I've either seen him as a world beater or completely awful with very little in-between. When he's hot he's very hot and when he's cold he flat out sucks, but he does have quite a few "average" games as well.
  21. Jay Cutler is 1-7 against the Packers as a Bear (not including the game he didnt play last year).
  22. Whoops. Cutler haters are going to have a field day with this. Cutler normally doesn't say anything that would make waves in the media, so its really odd that he would come out cocky during Packers week. I don't think anyone expected the offense to be that pathetic, but damn, you'd better back up the talk if you want to make headlines saying those things.
  23. Well this game thread has turned into 2 Packers fans fellating themselves. I am going to leave for a 2nd time (came back after I heard the Bears actually scored) PS Cant wait to see how well Cubbievirus reacts to this game. He was trying the optimism thing this week.
  24. Well in the 2nd game of last season, the Bears offensive line got embarassed just as badly, to the point where Cutler pretty much gave up out there. Actually these 2 games look very similar as it pertains to the offensive line allowing pressure on Cutler almost every single play.
