I get his complaint. It is a little different when it comes between 2 seasons. Especially because the Hawks lost in regulation during the playoffs (albeit once in 6 games).

Just like last week...another day another potential 1 seed loses. Tonight its Miami losing to Georgia Tech (at home) Edit: Oh and and Georgetown :)

Q didn't really sound worried when asked about Hossa during the game. Sharps injury looked like the type of injury that would keep someone out for an extended period

In 2003-2004, the Hawks won 20 games in an 82 game season (albeit they had 11 ties). This year they've won 20 games in a 23 game season (so far)

Heard that one before I've heard that a lot from fans, but not from players. Before the latest Vancouver game there were quotes from I think one of the Sedin's that they were watching the game and hoping the Hawks won so they could break the streak

Even that is a convoluted stat. What does it matter if the game was played in a Blackhawks uniform. That isn't an accomplishment. It's a nice long career, but in a league where guys often play for 5-6 teams it's really only noteworthy when somebody like Brodeur plays his 1000th for the same team. There's like 30 active guys with more games played. Plus, they gave him a picture of him with the cup from three years ago that he probably already has. Did somebody run out to the collectibles store and pay $75 for that? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NHL_players_with_1000_games_played I think they gave him a silver stick with his name engraved on it too. Bottom line, it seemed a little odd to make such a big deal out of it, but I'd rather the Hawks have questionable ceremonies for their stars than go back to the Bill Wirtz era where our long time stars were alienated and estranged from the organization.

Here's a pretty good breakdown of how the seeding at the top will work out after this weekend. NBCSports network has to love this as they have the game tomorrow night. Hawks have been breaking ratings records all over the place as the streak has grown.

Can Iowa really get in as an at-large at this point? I guess maybe if they won their last 2 and then beat 2 of Indiana, Michigan or Michigan State en route to losing the Big Ten champ game, but even then they'd be right on the bubble
