  1. If this soccer thing doesn't work out, we've got a number of potential FG kickers on the Ghana side
  2. And Cameron saves a goal
  3. I couldn't feel worse about a lead.
  4. Yeah but the chicks love his sweet tat bro
  5. 3 yeah
  6. Yeah especially because everyone will be clamoring for him to replace Jozy on the roster if we advance and I think that ship has sailed.
  7. Glad we're winning and I know we can play better.
  8. That's not good is it? Better than a tear. So he might be back for the semis instead of the Gold Cup
  9. That's not good is it?
  10. [expletive] these [expletive] Ghanans
  11. Ghana dominating possession right now. 60-40
  12. The one person that couldn't get hurt. Donovan in knockout round?
  13. And now Altidore is dead....
  14. Dammit Altidore. Take a little extra time there and it's 2-0
  15. I'd love to know what you base that on. Edit - wait. No I wouldn't. Carry on. I'm not claiming to be some kind of savant. But we're not better than Germany, I doubt we're better than Portugal and we always lose to Ghana. Counterpoints: Portugal - In the jungle, favors us. Portugal will be without Pepe. If we beat Ghana, a draw is an acceptable result. Germany - Germany might not have anything to play for. We might be in a position (with a win over Ghana and a draw to Portugal, and the assumed German win over Ghana) where all we need to do is not get blown out by 5 goals. Ghana - both games in 06 and 10 were closely contested and could have gone either way, especially 2010. Essien is out. We're better than them.
  16. Was Essien expected to play? I know he's been injured.
  17. Pile it on Deutschland
  18. Thought this deserved its own thread. Very sad, he was a great player and from what I understand a great person. He will be missed. He was one of those guys that I loved growing up even thought he didn't play for the Cubs.

  20. The Padres twitter account confirmed. RIP that's very sad. 54 is too young.
  21. Yesterday, maybe. Let's see how that shakes out today and moving forward. I'm definitely classifying them differently now. I'm just a casual fan and I don't call in to radio shows, though :). I STILL hear people say "man I hate seeing the Spurs win, they are so boring". Funny because they are actually one of the more enjoyable teams to watch in the league these days. They really are. I hate watching NBA games because they tend to be so plodding and one on one, but the way the Spurs move the ball and their offense flows makes them very enjoyable to watch. My guess is that casual fans don't understand any of that and simply want to see the show time stuff. I'm going to try harder. Watching the Spurs this time was a lot of fun. And selfishly I kind of feel like the Bulls will need to follow this sort of model for awhile, and I'd obviously like it to work out. Maybe, maybe not. I think it just shows that the Big 3 model is one of multiple ways to win a title. In the last 4 years of the Big 3 in Miami, they won 2 titles. The other 2 titles were won by teams with 1 or less superstars. Meanwhile, everyone has spent the last 4 years trying to build their own big 3's to replicate the Celtics and Heat and have fallen short.
  22. So in terms of the early game, in order of preference it's: 1) Germany win 2) Draw 3) Portugal win or do I switch 1 and 2?

  24. The Heat were a lucky rebound and Ray Allen 3 away from 1 title in the first (only?) 4 years of the super team
