  1. Weird team and weird game. Petition to play the rest of our games on the road against winning teams.
  2. Butler and Dunleavy out. This should be a fun one...
  3. Yeah I am puzzled why Hinrich keeps getting minutes. Hinrich's defensive reputation is just that, a reputation at this point. His offense is absolutely terrible. If you accept Brooks as the backup PG, Snell and Moore have both outplayed Hinrich this year at SG (albeit both have still mostly been bad) while Hinrich is fighting Taj for 6th man status on this team. Something has to give. It's probably not the biggest problem on the Bulls right now but its up there. For the record, this is how Hinrich's PER stacks up in Hollinger's scale: And he gets 28 minutes per game...
  4. Yup, and only the 6th ASG in the last 11 years 05 - Lockout 06 - Olympics 07 - ASG 08 - ASG 09 - ASG 10 - Olympics 11 - ASG 12 - ASG 13 - Olympics 14 - Lockout 15 - ASG Until yesterday, Toews had as many All-Star appearances as Gold Medals or Stanley Cups. (cheating a little because Toews was selected to a 4th ASG but didnt play due to injury)
  5. Pretty good showing for the Hawks yesterday. Team Toews won, and Toews had 1 goal and 4 assists Crawford had the highest SV%, most saves and least Goals allowed of any goalie Kane had 2 goals and a assist Both the defensemen got on the scoresheet.
  6. It's not cherry picked? It's whatever ESPN uses for qualified players. Again, I don't have a problem with him shooting 3's, its those dumb heat check ones that I think hurt the team. 31.2% (his current percentage) is exactly his career average. If he keeps that up, by all means shoot a few a game.
  7. I apologize for causing this. Hmm not sure that 85th out of 89 qualified players at 3 point % is somewhat respectable. I don't have a problem with him shooting 3s, especially when he is wide open but 5-6 a game seems like a lot.
  8. Adding the DH seems like something meatballs (ok "traditionalists") would throw a huge fit about but within 2 seasons no one would talk about. Forget the stupid [expletive] about "it adds strategy" would anyone's lives feel less complete if we never saw a pitcher hit again?
  9. Yeah those suggestions are idiotic and worrisome
  10. Cutty being Cutty http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/01/jay-cutlers-wife-left-him-at-home-with-the-kids-and-he-had-an-existential-crisis
  11. Oh man this is freaking amazing:
  12. The first two would be "natural causes." Is this showing up anywhere besides Twitter? I hope it's not actual news. It's a direct statement from the Banks family attorney
  13. Not expected? Wtf. Please don't get weird. He wasn't at Cubs Convention this weekend which to everyone who can remember was apparently the first one he's missed in forever. So he had to have been sick. Perhaps he was sick and it unexpectedly escalated and caused him to pass
  14. A compilation of twitter tributes. Nice to see the names that said something, even though Ozzie's was an unintelligible mess http://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/for-petes-sake/article8050032.html
  15. How could it not be? I've never heard someone say a bad word about Ernie Banks. He is loved in Chicago but admired everywhere.
  16. They've played well but 11-6 since the Rondo trade doesn't seem like "absolutely on fire". At least on the surface. Not trying to discredit the win though, it was definitely a good one for the Bulls
  17. I thought I read he was not there. Dayn Perry suggested Ernie Banks Day every year on his ML debut for the Cubs to play 2. Agree wholeheartedly. I saw that. Unfortunately his MLB debut was on September 17. Not sure I want a contending Cubs team to be playing a DH on the second to last week of the season. How about 5/12 for his 512 career HRs?
  18. The Cubs will thrive in 20-1-5 [expletive] this sucks. This seems pretty unexpected. Was he at Cubs Convention last week?
  19. I think he's just trying to find a rotation so he's doing things erratically. Didn't Moore get a start as well? I know for certain he had a couple of games where he was ahead of Snell and maybe even Hinrich in the rotation. The only person that seemingly won't get a shot at the rotation is McDermott. Mostly because every time he plays, including last night he runs around like a chicken with his head cut off.
  20. That would be the awesomest thing ever.
  21. I bet he is becoming an assistant coach. Makes sense considering the talk about Fox wanting to connect with alumni, and the somewhat iffy chance of Tillman making another team next year.
  22. That's awesome for DePaul. It would be nice to see them become decent. Yeah, they basically had a lost 2 weeks where they lost 6 in a row and completely lost focus/confidence. Other than that, they are 11-3. WTF? They would have to keep this pace up all of conference season to even be considered for the NCAA, but they are in legit NIT range at this point, which is fun. If the Illini don't make the NCAA, I could see the NIT matching them up in a first round game to try and boost interest. Illinois would proceed to murder DePaul, but it would be cool for them to play for the first time in 60 years. It would certainly be a tough game, but to be considered for the NIT they probably have to finish at least 1 game over .500 for the season, so they'd have to go at least 5-6 in their remaining games plus win at least 1 BE Tournament game. That would put them at 17-16 (if they lost the second tourney game) and 10-8 in the Big East regular season with wins over Stanford, Xavier, St. Johns, Seton Hall, and at least 3 of Nova, Butler, Georgetown, St. Johns again, Seton Hall again, Xavier again, Providence (2 chances).
  23. Lilly's reaction when he found out: http://l.yimg.com/a/p/sp/editorial_image/03/0365fafeabba20025d475a696515fed6/marcum_glove_flip_a_reminder_of_lillys_glove_slam_at_arizona.gif Yeah I know, too easy Edit: [expletive] Kyle already beat me to it.
