  1. Roseypoo already declared out for tonight's game
  2. The inner meatball in me is loving this. I want them to suck for all eternity. I think Phil wants them to suck. High draft pick + cap space is their quickest way to relevancy
  3. Stop sucking against the Wings. We only get 2 of these games a year now.
  4. Yeah but from the twitter notes I read it seemed to be in jest to some degree. He said something about Marshall needing callouses to box and Marshall showed him his knuckles.
  5. Wasn't he supposed to retire after last year?
  6. Kris Bryant says no and he'll even spot Soler 2 weeks.
  7. I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet but Wada pitched 1.2 innings for the "MLB All-Stars" last night in Japan and gave up a HR.
  8. Think of the storylines: -Maddon's first game as Cub -Baez, Soler, Alcantara with their first opening day -Potential for multiple bigger named FAs making debut -Debut of rebuilt bleachers and jumbotron at Wrigley -Welcome back to relevancy Cubs -How many Cardinals will drive drunk to the game -Passing of the torch in NL Central supremacy
  9. That's exciting dammit, now I kind of want Bryant in the lineup
  10. Local media was just waiting for Marshall antics. Couldn't wait for it. Yup, that and waiting for Derrick Rose to talk are their 2 favorite things right now.
  11. I'm just going to turn a blind eye to Marshall's antics and pretend its his first 2 years in Chicago when he could do no wrong and was beloved.
  12. It's out. Some shockers Russell Bryant Soler Almora Schwarber McKinney Johnson Torres Vogelbach Sands http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=25046
  13. Seems like it's minor....see you guys next injury!
  14. Dude we blew a 30+ point lead in the 3rd quarter to a shitty ass Kings team awhile back. That was a terrible loss
  15. Dallas is currently beating Tankadelphia 73-29 at halftime
  16. They'll be fine. I remember Asik barely getting off the bench his first year and ended up being a key reserve by the playoffs. It's the 9th game of the year and Thibs has barely put them on the court. Then they come in a game like tonight and press. I'm not worried about them being playoff contributors. They've shown enough flashes for me to be optimistic about their futures.
  17. Probably because he tore his ACL in consecutive years. Not that Cutler and his contract have a ton of value but I'd at least want someone that can be counted on to play.
  18. He does. So you wouldn't do Castro for Zimmerman straight up with Zimmerman agreeing to an extension at market value?
  19. Zimmerman is awesome and possibly better than the FA options but do we really want to give up Baez, Russell or Castro to get him when we can sign Lester without giving up anyone including draft picks?
  20. FINALLY SOME ACCOUNTABILITY
  21. WTF? Derrick is awesome when he doesn't talk.
  22. Thanks....there is nothing out there for RBs in FA, so I would have to look the trade route. Bryants TDs are clearly unsustainable, but he's putting up those numbers playing only half the snaps as he works himself into the rotation..he's clearly a talent but not sure his keeper value as he will obviously continue to be behind Brown as the Steelers #1 WR.
  23. Nobody can say, cuz it's a pretty uncommon circumstance. Ultimately, Maddon had every right to opt out without Tampa receiving any compensation. So my best guess is that it'd be a fine. It's pretty unlikely that tampering is proven, imo. Well yeah but it would be a bit more punitive if they can prove Maddon opted out because he knew the Cubs were offering him their job. When Maddon opted out, the Twins were the only team with an open managerial spot, so it immediately seems fishy that Maddon would opt out of his job when there was only 1 team that was definitely looking for a manager. Especially because like a week before he stated how he was dedicated to staying with Tampa Bay long term and abruptly changed course. I don't think the Cubs tampered at all (based on Theo's extremely confident remarks and the promise of full cooperation), I'm just saying why the Rays might get more compensation than a fine if the Cubs were caught tampering. Also, considering their willingness to give the MLB investigators full cooperation, if they maintained their innocence to the investigators and were later found to have tampered, the MLB could suspend Theo and Jed and/or take away draft picks/draft and IFA pool money.
  24. Am I imagining this or have the Bears gone away from the status quo of winning the toss and deferring to the second half? I feel like one of the past couple games they won the toss and elected to receive, assuming they knew they would give up a TD. I know for a fact they won the toss on Sunday and elected to receive. They received first against New England but I'm not sure who won the toss. But yeah I think its a strategy shift because of their desire to get an early lead before the defense starts sucking.
