    Baseball tonight from outside wrigley starts in 10 min (9pm ct) bet there will be some good views of the park.

    Maybe because, like the postseason, the Cubs and Cardinals will be the only teams currently "in season" since everyone else starts on Monday. Just a guess

    It was going to happen at some point. Praise to those mid-major coaches that want to stay and build something special with their programs but over time it becomes clear that they just don't have the resources to become a power on the level of a major conference team. Shaka Smart made a final 4 run but since then they havent gotten out of the round of 32. He is still extremely highly regarded in coaching circles, but his start might fall a bit if the program doesn't make another long run. So he finally had to get out to take the next step. Brad Stevens did the same thing, albeit to the NBA, and Gregg Marshall will eventually. I guess the best hope for a mid major coach like Smart is that the school does so well, they get picked up by a major conference and become a power.

    With tonight's win, the Hawks clinch a playoff spot, kept pace with St Louis, gained on Nashville and distanced themselves from Minnesota who lost.

    Maybe but there are multiple cases of broken collarbones and the recovery time required. Kane coming back in round 1 would completely blow those return times away.

    Beat folks are suggesting this means an acceleration in his timetable, though it was noted due to the cap he can't come back until the playoffs start. If he's back for Game 1 of the playoffs, we should all probably be ecstatic about that. I just cant understand how he'd be ready 3 weeks earlier. This isn't like an ankle spain or something. It's a broken bone healing. If they bring him back and its not 100% fully healed, they are fucked because teams will be looking to check him as much as possible. I understand Kane has historically been a quick healer but even discussing a round 1 return seems very optimistic.
