  1. Sac fly to deep left center. Oh, then he must have had 5 PA, or the tweet I read was incorrect
  2. 8 in a row! 8-0-0 in last 8 11-1-0 in last 12 13-2-0 in last 15 Only 1 point given to opponents in last 8 games, 3 in last 12 games, 6 in last 15 55 GF, 31 GA in last 15, 46 GF, 23 GA in last 12, 28 GF, 13 GA in last 8
  3. Javy must have grounded out in his last AB because he finished 0-4 with an RBI
  4. So Toews might have a concussion? Is that what I'm reading?
  5. Javy struck out in his 3rd AB too... 0-3 3K Is he shaking off rust, working on something or just broken?
  6. Way to bring a room down. We needed that. Then I won't even mention what he did in his second AB... lol...all you can do is laugh and hope it gets better
  7. It looks like Alvarez is going to coach the Badgers again in their bowl game. It must be nice for him to get to coach a game again every couple of years.
  8. I have been waiting for that. This is a franchise changing acquisition that had many twists and turns...deserves to be immortalized with Nomar and Theo.
  9. See, a respected media guy from Boston knows what it's called
  10. that leaves what 25 games unaccounted for? WCIU? CSN+? FOX?
  11. lol I think most of us heard the song, it was played pretty heavily on Chicago radio in Sept/early Oct 2008, as well as played between innings at Wrigley that year after its release. Decent song but that depressing feel of the song really fit better after the Cubs playoff collapse
  12. So they traded Lester for Porcello. Obviously not as simple as that due to contacts and future value but interesting.
  13. I was trying to argue with a Sox fan yesterday (first problem) that in ranking the city's starters, Arrieta should be higher than Quintana, and in trying to argue that I found out that Arrieta's FIP (2.26) was second in all of baseball (min 150 innings) behind only Kershaw. Even xFIP (2.73) has him 5th in baseball, tied with Grienke and trailing only Kershaw, Felix Hernandez, Strasburg and Kluber. Not much to add, I just didn't realize he was even that much better than his ERA, which the Sox fan was arguing was a fluke and unsustainable. I might even have an argument that Arrieta should be 3rd ahead of Shark, behind Lester and Sale. Edit: The top 5 starters in the city by FIP 1. Arrieta 2.26 2. Sale 2.57 3. Lester 2.80 4. Quintana 2.81 5. Samardzija 3.20 By xFIP 1. Arrieta 2.73 2. Sale 2.83 3. Samardzija 3.07 4. Lester 3.10 5. Quintana 3.37
  14. is this intended as hyperbole? it's dead wrong Yeah hyperbole
  15. Yes because Harper is so valuable the Nats wouldn't even accept a Bryant/Russell/Soler package.
  16. Oh yeah I completely forgot his knob slobbering over Tebow.
  17. Meanwhile the football conference sent a team to the playoff. What a strange world we live in
  18. I mean Christ the guy was a 5 win player at age 19
  19. Wait Harper is a free agent after 2015? I'm not super excited to give away guys like Bryant and Russell but you're talking about acquiring a guy who is younger than Bryant, has a higher ceiling, and has proven it in the majors at an age where 99% of players are either in college or the low minors. He could easily be in the same area code as Trout as early as next year
  20. For Harper AND Zimmerman id expect us to give up something like Bryant, Baez, Russell and CJ Edwards.
  21. Julie DiCaro doesn't report stuff too often but I think she's fairly reputable when she does. Plus she has no reason to end up with a pie on her face as she will be out of a job in 3 weeks. Edit: ok [expletive] this [expletive] I give up. No more posting twitter [expletive], or if I do don't spend 45 seconds adding commentary before posting she seems pretty dumb whenever i've seen her comment on stuff and i could swear she reported that she was hearing tanaka to the cubs was done at some point, which would be like the opposite of what you said Hmm... Ok then ignore everything except the part where she is going to be unemployed in 3 weeks, not a good time to be reporting false/unreliable rumors
  22. I'd pack his bags for Harper. One in the hand is worth two in the bush (I think Bryant has a high floor but he could very easily not end up a star). He does K a lot... Plus Harper is younger.. i'd imagine he would have put a pretty good hurting on triple A pitching this year too.. I would put tier 1 and tier 2 Tier 1: Bryant, Soler, Russell Tier 2: Alcantara, Baez, Castro You can choose 1 from each tier or 2 from tier 2 if you want. Obviously there would be more going back but in terms of the major pieces this is what I would be ok with.
