  1. I said hire him if he's the best guy. It's just going to be a hard sell to fans. I realize that doesn't mean anything at all and the Bears shouldn't make decisions based on what the fans want, it was just an observation.
  2. Angelo didn't work out, Emery was a disaster...I know lets hire a guy that has spend almost his entire career working for those two. No. The Bears were good when Ballard was here. It's just an odd narrative to sell to the fan base. If you believe he's the best guy, fine hire him.

  4. definitely...and Nashville only got 1 point tonight so we pull back into a tie for 1st with them (Nash has 1 game in hand) I know, I know its dumb to care about the standings in January, or like ever if you're a Hawks fan, but it helps me get through the dog days of the season before the playoffs.
  5. I hear ya. I used to watch sportscenter on repeat from like 9am-12pm during summers in the 90s when I was out of school even though it was the exact same show played 3 times. At first it was "The Big Show" with Patrick and Olberman, but then new guys like Stuart Scott, Rich Eisen and Scott Van Pelt came to the forefront and became part of my daily viewing through high school, college, post college, etc. I know a lot of people hated him and his style but for someone my age, I loved it, he seemed much younger and more in touch with my generation than Patrick and Olberman. I rarely go out of my way to watch sportscenter these days, but occasionally it will come on after watching a game on ESPN, and those familiar voices are always there, Berman, Scott, Levy, etc. Now one of those voices that I've been hearing for 20 years is gone. I think that's part of the reason why Scott's death hit harder for some like me than other celebrity deaths. Robin Williams you see in a movie a couple times a year, but Scott, even in the later years was one of the people you always saw and heard on SportsCenter.
  6. AJ Green and Gresham out today. Not going to help the Bengals get their first playoff win in 25 years.
  7. It's kind of creepy how much prepackaged material they had prepared for this. Seeing people in tears talking about him that was obviously recorded when he was still alive.
  8. Very sad. His style was quite polarizing, at least 10 years ago, but from all accounts he was a really really good dude.
  9. Under .500 teams are 2-0 all time in the Wild Card Round
  10. Ryan Lindley is so bad at quarterbacking It's like if 2010 era Todd Collins played an entire playoff game Feel bad for Arizona, they had a pretty good team before Palmer and then Stanton went down. The defense kind of slumped later in the year but they might have something to do with being on the field a lot more with the offense not sustaining drives.
  11. We should hang a 2013 BP Cup champions banner at Wrigley
  12. DePaul continues to confuse. They start out 6-1 with a win over Stanford but a horrible loss to a team I already forgot. Then they lose 6 in a row including blowout losses to Ohio and Loyola Marymount. Now they have won 3 in a row including their first 2 big east games to Marquette and a pretty decent Xavier team.
  13. Take your time. I want a good look at Teuvo.
  14. Sweeney maybe, but I'd think Coghlan/Denorfia is our platoon in LF. For three weeks. Out of curiosity but is there any legit info that suggests the Cubs are actually considering playing Bryant in LF next year or is it all speculation from fans because it makes too much sense? I might have missed/forgot something.
  15. There's always someone to make me look better. I don't care though I got IMB! on my side
  16. This isn't going to be a thing for you, is it? If Rose plays 50 games this year and is healthy for the playoffs, I'd feel better about the playoffs than if Rose goes 35 minutes a game for 80 games this year. This still applies, two months later. And it's still a thing for you, two months later. And enough with the "I can't change how I feel" garbage, when you act like a meatball goon, you get called out for being a meatball goon. Blah blah blah. Nothing in that original comment you are randomly still referencing has any attack at all on Rose. It was a post mentioning that he was out for whatever game that was. Maybe it's meatbally, I honestly don't even care. He's said and done enough dumb things for me to be more critical of his actions. Wherein you sarcastically called him "Roseypoo".......... Oh god that's the criticism? A friend and I have jokingly been calling him that for years. I let that bleed into NSBB to be pounced on by you ravenous monsters (I mean that in the most endearing way - love you guys!). Sorry for the confusion.

If you honestly still can't see what's wrong with that original comment, you are too far gone to even try to salvage. Considering I know what I was posting when I posted it, you are somehow reading things with the wrong. (I get it I'm not likable at all when I act like a meatball, I'll try to tone it down or leave it to RealGM. Point made)
  18. The guy definitely didn't say all the right things, but after the first ACL, it seemed like the guy really wanted to get back ahead of schedule and his body just didn't let him, and then after the second ACL, he was as overly cautious as he should have been the first time, and everybody killed him for it. Since then, the mob mentality toward Rose has been overly critical and focusing on the strange things he says, instead of just realizing the guy's coming back from two potential career ending injuries and may take some time to get into the rhythm where he can be effective night-in, night-out for 30 minutes a game, especially on back-to-backs. I'd even understand the criticism more if his comeback caused the Bulls to struggle, but since Rose has come back from that latest sickness, the Bulls have won 8 of 9 and look largely like world beaters against teams of any value. Maybe a lot of it is frustration of waiting so long. Impatience = fodder for meatballs to pounce on. Maybe that makes me a "meatball goon". Whatever I don't care. But when the guy is nearly top 10 in the NBA in 3 point attempts despite only playing 28 minutes a game, he'd better be shooting better than 26% or whatever it is. And if he is shooting 26% he's going to get criticism when he says he's going to keep shooting them when teams give him that shot. It's not his game, it never was. If he's going to pick his spots as he recovers, fine but jacking up 5-6 3s a game isn't helping the team.

  20. I feel like their hands were tied. Only undefeated team in the nation in a power 5 conference and defending national champ with a majority of their best players back. They clearly were playing below the level the other 3 were at but the blowback would have been worse if they didn't include them. I still think TCU should have gotten in over Ohio State but I'm sure my judgement is clouded.
  21. Hah. Glad he got somewhat hot. 7-18 in the second half. PS I really hope that someday everyone can constantly call me out for being critical of Rose because he's back to being a star. I really really hope so. I feel so conflicted because I havent loved a player as much as Rose since I was like 12 when all my favorite teams players were demigods. But the things he said and done and the way he's played have frustrated me to the point of being critical. Maybe unfair but whatever. I can't change how I feel although I'd like to and hopefully I can someday soon.
  22. I guess go Big Ten but I'm not sure I can root for them in the NC.
  23. Rose is shooting 9% from the field the last 1.5 games (2-22) and 16% (7-42) the last 2.5 games. Ouch
