  1. The guy definitely didn't say all the right things, but after the first ACL, it seemed like the guy really wanted to get back ahead of schedule and his body just didn't let him, and then after the second ACL, he was as overly cautious as he should have been the first time, and everybody killed him for it. Since then, the mob mentality toward Rose has been overly critical and focusing on the strange things he says, instead of just realizing the guy's coming back from two potential career ending injuries and may take some time to get into the rhythm where he can be effective night-in, night-out for 30 minutes a game, especially on back-to-backs. I'd even understand the criticism more if his comeback caused the Bulls to struggle, but since Rose has come back from that latest sickness, the Bulls have won 8 of 9 and look largely like world beaters against teams of any value. Maybe a lot of it is frustration of waiting so long. Impatience = fodder for meatballs to pounce on. Maybe that makes me a "meatball goon". Whatever I don't care. But when the guy is nearly top 10 in the NBA in 3 point attempts despite only playing 28 minutes a game, he'd better be shooting better than 26% or whatever it is. And if he is shooting 26% he's going to get criticism when he says he's going to keep shooting them when teams give him that shot. It's not his game, it never was. If he's going to pick his spots as he recovers, fine but jacking up 5-6 3s a game isn't helping the team.
  2. This isn't going to be a thing for you, is it? If Rose plays 50 games this year and is healthy for the playoffs, I'd feel better about the playoffs than if Rose goes 35 minutes a game for 80 games this year. This still applies, two months later. And it's still a thing for you, two months later. And enough with the "I can't change how I feel" garbage, when you act like a meatball goon, you get called out for being a meatball goon. Blah blah blah. Nothing in that original comment you are randomly still referencing has any attack at all on Rose. It was a post mentioning that he was out for whatever game that was. Maybe it's meatbally, I honestly don't even care. He's said and done enough dumb things for me to be more critical of his actions.
  3. I feel like their hands were tied. Only undefeated team in the nation in a power 5 conference and defending national champ with a majority of their best players back. They clearly were playing below the level the other 3 were at but the blowback would have been worse if they didn't include them. I still think TCU should have gotten in over Ohio State but I'm sure my judgement is clouded.
  4. Hah. Glad he got somewhat hot. 7-18 in the second half. PS I really hope that someday everyone can constantly call me out for being critical of Rose because he's back to being a star. I really really hope so. I feel so conflicted because I havent loved a player as much as Rose since I was like 12 when all my favorite teams players were demigods. But the things he said and done and the way he's played have frustrated me to the point of being critical. Maybe unfair but whatever. I can't change how I feel although I'd like to and hopefully I can someday soon.
  5. I guess go Big Ten but I'm not sure I can root for them in the NC.
  6. Rose is shooting 9% from the field the last 1.5 games (2-22) and 16% (7-42) the last 2.5 games. Ouch
  7. Wow. Can't believe Sparty won. Pretty good bowl season for the Big Ten
  8. It's disturbing when you see how well Darling and Raanta played when he was out. Crawfords contract might cost us Sharp or Seabrook after the year. That said Crawford wasn't that bad most of the game and hasn't been particularly bad this year.
  9. Well that sucks. 13 seconds from getting a point. Hawks 0-2 in winter classics :(
  10. http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=12107463 For those that want Polian he declined an offer to run the Bills and said he was going to remain on ESPN next year. Maybe he just doesn't want to join the Bills and would accept a Bears offer.
  11. He wouldn't be my first choice but I'd probably be ok. IIRC he was constantly in danger of losing his job for the last 4-5 years with the Texans but he did make a couple of playoffs and had a good offense On a negative note, he annoyingly gave all his kids names that begin with K (Klein, Klay and...ugh Klint)
  12. Man Everton is terrible this year in argue play. They might be in a relegation battle if they continue to suck like this.
  13. Ugh he owned Craw on that breakaway
  14. Also the camera angles are terrible for hockey at Nationals Park
  15. God [expletive] dammit if the game isnt going to start until 12:30 then don't advertise it as starting at 12. Rushed to get home by noon only to be treated to commercials, Billy Idol and a really long introduction
  16. Rose said in the post game that he is not going to stop shooting 3s if the defense is giving it to him. Tonight the Nets dared Rose to shoot 3s and he did. Such a frustrating basketball player. I want to still like him and I definitely still support him but I can't believe how much he has fallen in my eye since 2011. With all the scoring we have right now id almost rather have a rondo type PG
  17. I don't have the numbers but it seems like he had 2-3 games where he shot well and started attacking and then went cold and settled for 3s galore again. I'm sorry a 26% 3 point shooter should not be shooting 5-7 3's a game. If he isn't able to get to the basket or conserving himself or something, then just don't [expletive] shoot 3s. Be a distributor. You have an MVP candidate playing next to you, find ways to get him shots.
  18. Spoke too soon
  19. And now I look dumb Not the first time, definitely not the last time
  20. There's still PSU, Nebraska, Purdue, NW and Rutgers to beat up on. You think Michigan's had it rough, check on what Nebraska's been through. Plus, this game's not exactly over yet either. Still not thrilled that Illinois doesn't have any home games against Wisconsin, OSU, Iowa or Minnesota this year. MSU and Michigan are the only "marquee" home games they'll have this year. I know I know, I am "politely overreacting" right now. I'm more frustrated in general at the direction of the program not being able to keep the momentum from the last 3 years going on the recruiting trail. But we have the right coach to maximize lesser talented players so I guess its not the end of the world.
  21. I definitely shouldn't complain because the last 2 years have ended in the championship game and elite 8, and also because its Jim Harbaugh day, but did Michigan have to immediately go from contender to bottom 4 in the Big Ten? OK maybe that's extreme because I believe in Beilein's ability to make this team better as the year goes on, but it's not like there is a lot of talent coming in next year...there's absolutely no talent coming in unless Jaylen Brown somehow comes to Ann Arbor. What you see on the court right now is what UM will have next year most likely.
  22. If Michigan cant even win the Harbaugh game, we're in trouble
