  1. The number of Chicago media guys begging the Bears to hire Fox on twitter is disturbing. No thanks on Fox.
  2. Ugh sounds like other teams are more aggressive with Bowles than we are. I have no idea who I want if its not Bowles. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing, but this feels like its going to be a Dick Jauron hire...someone not to inspiring or in particularly high demand. Could end up working out though. I guess there's still a shot we interview Marrone though. I know some people wouldn't agree but I wouldn't hate that hire.
  3. I could be wrong but when the Calvin Johnson catch happened, I feel like I remember the announcers saying that interpreting what a catch is was something the refs emphasized in the preseason that year, so basically the NFL forcing the refs to call it by the rulebook. And kind of like the tuck rule, once that call was made, future plays were judged by that interpretation.
  4. Apparently Steve Bisciotti is pretty persuasive.
  5. New rumors on Twitter are that John fox is out with this loss and Kubiak coming back to Denver to coach for his buddy John Elway is possible.
  6. Woo hoo. Would be very happy with this hire
  7. I'll probably be killed for being the one posting this but Rose is out tonight with knee soreness in his ACL knee #noagenda
  8. I am more than fine with names like Bowles and Kubiak. Not as thrilled with Marrone and Gase. Not sure why though.
  9. Just a very mediocre 7-5-1 since our 8 game winning streak. Bulls are 3-3 since their 7 game winning streak. Both teams played the majority of those games at home. Lesson is to not go on winning streaks or play at home?
  10. He should, but it obviously seems like he doesn't want to cede that. He went out of his way to define the org structure ahead of Pace today, and there are rumors that Ballard was more concerned about who was ahead of him than Pace was followed by a maybe coincidental shift from Ballard being the heavy favorite to Pace being hired.
  11. Well George has made it a point to say that unless he has to he does not mettle in football operations (Obviously he had to this year though). If Pace was reporting directly to George maybe his leash is a little longer, who knows. That's probably a stretch though. Other than that, if Phillips says he has full control over football operations and Ted is just there to fire him or extend him depending on how he does, then its nothing to worry about.
  12. It was fine. No Joe Maddon or Theo, but I'd say it was positive. Yeah that's the other thing. The last front office/managerial press conference we watched was Maddon's where he charmed the pants off of everyone. Hard to live up to that.
  13. It was pretty meh, but that really doesn't mean anything at all. It's not like he said anything devistatingly bad. And like Banedon said, Emery was a home run based on his press conferences and look how that turned out.
  14. Apparently the Dolphins and their 5 Super Bowl appearances (2 championships) aren't a historic franchise.
  15. Seems like he's calming down a bit and getting more comfortable.
  16. He sounds like he's super amped up
  17. Reports to Ted Phillips Ernie Accorsi apparently still involved in interviewing head coaches
  18. Odd to pick a World Series winner in January anyways.
  19. http://worldseriesdreaming.com/2015/01/08/another-day-another-rooftops-lawsuit/
  20. Not for nothing but didn't Phil Emery have complete control? Yep. He just wasn't very good at it. I thought that Ted Phillips was the head of Football (and Business) Operations during the Emery regime. I read the tweet to mean that Pace reports directly to George and Phillips is being Crane Kenney'd
  21. Sean Payton is an EIU alum....I'll trade a 1st for him :) You'd trade the 7th pick in the draft for a coach that just went 6-10 in one of the worst divisions in the history of football? I don't know, I wasn't really thinking it through as I don't think it has any possiblity of happening. Also didn't they go 7-9?
  22. Sean Payton is an EIU alum....I'll trade a 1st for him :)
  23. Honestly I thought that the hiring of Ballard was an almost certainty and the other interviews were just a formality.
  24. Is that supposed to be meaningful? Exactly. Was he the main scout of the Midwest region or something? He would have had to have been a pro scout if he's responsible for signing Brees away from San Diego.
