  1. This team clearly has issues right now, but do you hear yourself when you get this worked up over a stretch of bad games in January? The Bulls need to prove they can win in the playoffs under Thibodeau for me to have any sort of confidence going forward. They're 17-22 under Thibs in the playoffs in his coaching tenure. Which has what to do with the post you quoted? Plus Thibs' playoff record with the Bulls is skewed by not having Rose for two years. The Thibs playoff record argument is hilarious. 10-7 record in games Rose plays in 7-15 in games Rose doesn't play.
  2. Team is tuning out Thibs, it's pretty clear at this point. Defense is bad, energy is bad, rebounding is bad. This really isn't a very good team. Isn't a prolonged stretch of suckiness bad enough without this kind of sizzling hot meatballin'? Chris Sheridan had one source tell him that the Bulls have indeed quit on Thibs but another tell him that is completely untrue.
  3. They are 2 games into a 12 game stretch where their opponent's average RPI is 22. If they come out of that stretch at .500 overall in the conference, it would be a miracle (would mean they went 5-7 over those 12 games). I guess my mantra for DePaul basketball is "one game at a time". If I look at all the Seton Hall and Villanovas on the schedule, it gets depressing. If DePaul didn't blow those games to Loyola Marymount and Lehigh, they'd actually have an outside shot for an NIT bit (just given where they are now, not necessarily that I believe they will get there) at 12-7 (4-2) and 3 Top 35 wins. Regardless its just fun to be actually discussing DePaul basketball in a positive light for a change. They were never really in the Lehigh game, but they should have beaten Loyola Marymount and ISU. Yeah, being mediocre is a cause for celebration, which is both encouraging and sad as hell at the same time. Yeah I know they weren't in the Lehigh game, it was just a game DePaul should have freaking won.
  4. The Patriots definitely deflated some balls yesterday. What can they even do to them, other than a fine and maybe a draft pick taken away? That's it, if what I'm reading is correct.

  7. As much as it sucks to lose Valbuena, I'm happy that we were able to essentially pick him off the scrap heap 3 years ago and build enough value to be the key piece in this trade from the Cubs side. He's come a long way from being that douchebag that hit a bunch of HRs against us in that one series in 2009.
  8. Kind of cool that we are now making trades where we give up guys with years of arbitration control for a guy who is on his last year of arby. Another sign the Cubs ready to go for it this year instead of hoping this year goes well and targeting 2016 for real contention. Of course that could change if the Cubs struggle out of the gate and are sitting 10 games under in July, but for now its looking good.
  9. Maybe Urlacher ought to make things right with the Bears. Or keep his flapping gums closed. Either will work for me. Agreed. It's pretty annoying that Fox has that impression of the relationship, no doubt given to him by Urlacher himself. I'm sure Phillips and McCaskey loved hearing that viewpoint.
  10. Fox said he's going to make things right with Urlacher? I wasn't aware that he was wronged by the Bears (other than his own bitching)
  11. Who the hell is this woman asking about Urlacher's quotes about QBs?
  12. Hawks have two games in hand though. To win the Cup the Hawks will have to go thru two of (STL,NSH, WPG) in the first two rounds anyway. Not really worried what spot it they end up in. Really did not matter much last year. Dumb question, but if the Hawks finish 4th and get the 1st WC spot, would they automatically play the division winner with the worst record, or would they try to match them up to their divison if possible? Hypothetical scenario to explain: C1 Nashville 110 C2 St Louis 108 C3 Winnipeg 105 WC1 Chicago 104 P1 Anaheim 109 P2 San Jose 106 P3 Vancouver 99 WC2 LA Kings 98 Do the Blackhawks play Anaheim and play in the Pacific bracket with the Kings moving over to play Nashville, or would they keep the divisions the same since one from each division won the WCs?
  13. Thought experiment: What happens if a Cutler-led Bears team experienced all of the above misfortune in an NFC Championship game, and lost in OT? I know for one that I would have greatly embarrassed myself on this forum.
  14. is there a bathroom nearby?
  15. Mostly evasive of the Cutler question...did say Cutty texted him to welcome him to Chicago and sounds like they had a back and forth exchange.
  16. That's 2 press conferences in a row that have started early. A shot at the Trestman era?
  17. Cubs plan to play Olt, LaStella and maybe Alcantara at 3B until Bryant is called up according to Joel Sherman
  18. Maybe, but the Cubs probably believe in Alcantara as a super sub and don't want Bryant to move to OF? Now I guess Bryant will play 3rd, and Coughlan will start with Alcantara still a super sub
  19. Valbuena going to hosuton.....like a lot less
  20. Fowler, CF Castro, SS Rizzo, 1B Bryant, LF Soler, RF Valbuena, 3B Baez, 2B Montero, C Alcantara, super sub Wow that is a freaking solid lineup
  21. Possiblities for ML names? Castillo Travis Wood Jaxon (yeah right) One of the marginal 5th starter candidates like Turner or Dubront One of the bullpen arms that might not make the 2015 roster
  22. Partial list of things that had to happen for the Seahawks to win that game: -Packers had to kick a FG on 4th and goal from the 1 foot line -Packers had to kick a second FG on 4th and goal from the 2 -On Wilsons 4th int with 5 mins left the Packers player who intercepted it (forget who) purposely went down at midfield even though it looked like he had plenty of running room and might have been able to score -Have their kicker throw a TD pass to a lineman on a fake FG attempt -Recover an onside kick -Have a heavily covered WR catch a pass from Wilson, who threw a wobbler across his body up for grabs to convert a 2 point conversion -Win the OT coin toss -Have Wilson throw 2 perfect passes 20+ yards downfield to finish the game Am I missing anything?
  23. Aaron Rodgers playoff record outside of the Super Bowl season: 2-5.
  24. Wtf Hawks. Get your heads out of your asses These dual poor runs by the Hawks (6-5-1) and Bulls (5-6) are annoying
  25. That was about as improbable of a win as you can have. Still can't believe it happened. And in the second biggest game you can play in. Wow. so happy I don't have to watch GB in the Super Bowl. And now I can root for the Colts tonight to win. If the Packers had won Id have rooted for NE to give GB a better chance of losing.
