  1. Feel bad for the kids. They didn't do anything wrong and now they have to live with it. Meanwhile the people that cheated got to profit off of them.
  2. Good question, I do think if the ref called it a goal on the ice, it would have stood. Not enough evidence to overturn either way. Exactly...I think the refs knew it was almost certainly a goal, but they couldnt overturn it based on the evidence. I don't have any problem with the way the refs called it. Just sucks because if we could get a few more frames with the puck not obstructed by the glove and stick, there would have been conclusive evidence IMO.
  3. Why can't the NHL invest in goal line technology like soccer? The technology is there and it speeds up the game because you don't have reviews like this.
  4. Hawks get screwed out of a point. Raanta sucked in the shootout
  5. Still going to be tough to compete with LA and SF in their division (obviously there's 2 WCs though)
  6. I'm completely fine with this. I think our rotation will be good this year, and if any of them falters there are a ton of 4/5 starters we can try in a rotation spot.
  7. Wouldn't be too hard on IU today. I don't think this UM team is particularly talented after the injuries to Walton and LeVert (and the significant NBA attrition) but in the 6 games without LeVert they've won at Rutgers, lost in OT to Wisconsin, beat Nebraska, lost in OT at MSU, got blown out by Iowa and then the close loss in Bloomington.
  8. Jesus. Down 6 with 50 seconds left and they win in regulation.
  9. Cowley is currently making a passionate defense of Hinrich on Twitter Btw the 6-7-8 guys on the Spurs last year (no order) were Ginobili, Bellineli, and Diaw
  10. Weren't we the favorites for Lester for months? I won't be pissed if they sign Shields for 3 years, but I don't particularly want him either. We are the favorites based on media speculation. Once the bidding started it seemed like the Giants and Red Sox were mentioned more often as favorites than we were. Even at the start of the winter meetings when we were mentioned among the finalists with those teams I think the consensus was he was going elsewhere. It couldn't be because the Cubs FO seems to keep things close to the vest though. To me this seems like a clear case of Shields agents trying to get some more bidding going from SD but crazier things have happened. I'm in the same boat where I won't at all be upset if we get him but definitely won't be very upset if we don't.
  11. RIP Dean Smith. One of the all time greats
  12. I missed the beginning of the game, did anyone see this?
  13. I think that's the case. And I'm glad too....I just read an article on Crain's Chicago Business about the Bulls streaming games on NBC Live Sports app and it seems like CSN has been happy with the success so far, as well as the opening of new revenue streams. Hopefully this becomes a trend because it never really made much sense to me why they wouldn't allow you to stream local games online.
  14. that's an understatement. I did a double take when I saw that schedule. wow. Looks like the same schedule that got UM off to a 6-3 start in the conference.
  15. Mike Weber (4 star RB that just committed to OSU after a tough decision between them and UM) is pissed
  16. I don't necessarily want him to go, I think he's a great coach, but if the team is tuning him out I wouldn't necessarily be pissed if he left. Once a team tunes you out its hard to get them to buy back in. The other option is a trade to shake things up. The Tobias Harris rumor would work for me.
  17. Well they still are 4th in conference but 3rd in division. Looks like they will have not have home ice advantage in the first round again. Last year that was the only round they didn't. Who knows they have an 8 game home stand. Maybe they can go 6-1-1 or something like that. Its frustrating right now, but I still think its hard for any team to beat them in a 7 game series. They are a lot deeper than last year. Although Oduyla is a shell of his former self. Right....last year they ended the regular season terribly (14-13-4 in their last 31) and started the playoffs with 2 losses, then turned it up. So I'm not super worried again, because this is what contending teams that know the grind of the Stanley Cup playoffs tend to do. Not a big deal until it translates to the postseason.
  18. It had better be more than that. If they add Shields on top of already adding Heyward the division is out of the reach barring a ton of bad breaks for the Cards. I think the point might be to drive up the price beyond the Cardinals price range. I don't recall them being in on Shields so I feel like they are only in because they think they can get a bargain
  19. kaplan might be the most connected reporter out there I think he also has a history of being a Cubs mouthpiece, no?
  20. It's possible this was thrown out there to try to increase his price since the Cardinals are rumored to be in the mix
  21. Me in August: it's almost football season Me in October: it's almost basketball season Me in February: it's almost baseball season
  22. I keep thinking maybe they just aren't that good and then I remember how unbeatable they looked in December. At some point when every post game is full of quotes like "we are sick of getting our butts kicked" and "we need to play harder" and there is no change in play, their will is broken Rose with another solid 2-9 from 3. :( he's one stubborn dude.
  23. Looks like he might have announced it too soon because at least one recruit didn't send in his LOI to UCLA today and is apparently reopening his commitment: http://recruiting.blog.ajc.com/2015/02/04/breaking-roquan-smith-explains-what-the-heck-is-going-on-with-ucla-vs-uga/?ecmp=ajc_social_twitter_2014_recruiting_sfp
  24. Haha, I just realized that. Whoops. Theo is never going to do a chat here now.
