  1. Yeah those suggestions are idiotic and worrisome
  2. Cutty being Cutty http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/01/jay-cutlers-wife-left-him-at-home-with-the-kids-and-he-had-an-existential-crisis
  3. Oh man this is freaking amazing:
  4. The first two would be "natural causes." Is this showing up anywhere besides Twitter? I hope it's not actual news. It's a direct statement from the Banks family attorney
  5. Not expected? Wtf. Please don't get weird. He wasn't at Cubs Convention this weekend which to everyone who can remember was apparently the first one he's missed in forever. So he had to have been sick. Perhaps he was sick and it unexpectedly escalated and caused him to pass
  6. A compilation of twitter tributes. Nice to see the names that said something, even though Ozzie's was an unintelligible mess http://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/for-petes-sake/article8050032.html
  7. How could it not be? I've never heard someone say a bad word about Ernie Banks. He is loved in Chicago but admired everywhere.
  8. They've played well but 11-6 since the Rondo trade doesn't seem like "absolutely on fire". At least on the surface. Not trying to discredit the win though, it was definitely a good one for the Bulls
  9. I thought I read he was not there. Dayn Perry suggested Ernie Banks Day every year on his ML debut for the Cubs to play 2. Agree wholeheartedly. I saw that. Unfortunately his MLB debut was on September 17. Not sure I want a contending Cubs team to be playing a DH on the second to last week of the season. How about 5/12 for his 512 career HRs?
  10. The Cubs will thrive in 20-1-5 [expletive] this sucks. This seems pretty unexpected. Was he at Cubs Convention last week?
  11. I think he's just trying to find a rotation so he's doing things erratically. Didn't Moore get a start as well? I know for certain he had a couple of games where he was ahead of Snell and maybe even Hinrich in the rotation. The only person that seemingly won't get a shot at the rotation is McDermott. Mostly because every time he plays, including last night he runs around like a chicken with his head cut off.
  12. That would be the awesomest thing ever.
  13. I bet he is becoming an assistant coach. Makes sense considering the talk about Fox wanting to connect with alumni, and the somewhat iffy chance of Tillman making another team next year.
  14. That's awesome for DePaul. It would be nice to see them become decent. Yeah, they basically had a lost 2 weeks where they lost 6 in a row and completely lost focus/confidence. Other than that, they are 11-3. WTF? They would have to keep this pace up all of conference season to even be considered for the NCAA, but they are in legit NIT range at this point, which is fun. If the Illini don't make the NCAA, I could see the NIT matching them up in a first round game to try and boost interest. Illinois would proceed to murder DePaul, but it would be cool for them to play for the first time in 60 years. It would certainly be a tough game, but to be considered for the NIT they probably have to finish at least 1 game over .500 for the season, so they'd have to go at least 5-6 in their remaining games plus win at least 1 BE Tournament game. That would put them at 17-16 (if they lost the second tourney game) and 10-8 in the Big East regular season with wins over Stanford, Xavier, St. Johns, Seton Hall, and at least 3 of Nova, Butler, Georgetown, St. Johns again, Seton Hall again, Xavier again, Providence (2 chances).
  15. Lilly's reaction when he found out: http://l.yimg.com/a/p/sp/editorial_image/03/0365fafeabba20025d475a696515fed6/marcum_glove_flip_a_reminder_of_lillys_glove_slam_at_arizona.gif Yeah I know, too easy Edit: [expletive] Kyle already beat me to it.
  16. I'm glad it looks like the team bottomed out against Cleveland. It's just one game but they look like a different team. A lot more energy.
  17. And Depaul beats a ranked team (Seton Hall) on the freaking road. First win over a ranked team in 7 years and first road win over a ranked team in 10 years. Really wish they didn't lose to Loyola Marymount, Lehigh, Illinois State and Ohio Now 5-2 and tied for first in the Big East. Wtf
  18. He knows the drug of choice down there is meth and not pot right?
  19. Do you really need an answer to that question? I guess I do since I'm asking it. I know people hate on Cutler irrationally, but its the first I heard of people believing that he stopped trying.
  20. But seriously though, is that a belief that people have outside the Bears/Bears fans, that Cutler gave up stopped caring and trying? That's idiotic...
  21. Holy crap, I cant believe that a semi-respected sight has that idiotic of opinions. Also Trestman is a slimeball for trying to make Cutler the scapegoat on his way out the door. To the national medias credit, I feel like only Bears fans or people covering the Bears daily really had a true idea of how bad things got this season, and much of it you can blame on the coaching staff.
  22. Nice W. Great to get 4 points the last 2 nights
  23. I have no idea what Gase is going to do. Do you guys? Like in terms of what kind of offense? I am not sure but I did read that Fox and Gase would (respectfully) but heads because Fox is an old school "run to set up the pass" kind of guy and Gase is more of a innovative cutting edge offensive mind who likes to pass more frequently than Fox is comfortable with.
