    7 times in this series the Cubs tied a game they were trailing or took a lead. In 6 of those occasions, the Reds took the lead in the next half inning. The only time they did was after Schwarbers HR

    It was bound to happen. Even bad teams win series. A couple of pitches go differently (and no Castro errors) and we might have swept the series. Basically what I'm saying is that it sucks to lose the series against a team thats been terrible, but there isn't anything I saw that changes my long term outlook. The biggest issue is that the back of our rotation sucks and we don't really have any options to try to fix it. It almost certainly won't keep us out of the playoffs, but in a 5 game LDS, you will probably have at least 2 games started by the back end of the rotation. Wed - Arrieta (WC) Friday - Lester (normal rest) Saturday - Hammel or Hendricks (normal rest) Monday - Arrieta (+1 day rest) Tuesday - Whoever doesn't start between Hammel or Hendricks in Game 2 Thursday - Lester (+1 day rest)

    Well that sucks....Votto and poor starting pitching basically won this series for the Reds. It's ok to lose series, even ones at home against bad teams. My only major concern is starters 3-5.

    How about the guy who laid a juicy meatball right in front of Joey Votto? Can you be mad at him? Because I can. Votto is a great hitter who is in an unbelievable stretch and is hitting in fantastic conditions. He also shouldn't have been up. Rondon is a great pitcher, and it sucks that he threw a bad one that was crushed, but considering how good hes been for us you can't be mad at him. Likewise for Bryant who just freaking tied the game. Like if he didn't hit that HR none of this would be frustrating.

    When is the last time Montero has thrown out a base stealer? Edit: Looks like he's thrown out 19% of attempted stealers this year, which would be a career low. For reference, last year it was 29%, and in 2012 it was 42%

    This reminds me of when Luis Valbuena had a monster series against the Cubs in 2009. Had never heard of the dude and he was crushing us.
