  1. AGonz had some big game winning HRs at the start of 2003 IIRC. And had HRs in Game 5 against the Braves and 3 in the first 2 games against the Marlins. We shouldn't forget that but I just can't get past the error in Game 6 and the fact that it was glossed over in order to make a fan the scapegoat even though the error was enormously more impactful to the game. I don't know if the Cubs turn 2 there, but that second out would have been enormous for the team's psyche. Even if everything else plays out from there, Conine's fly ball that gave the Marlins a 4-3 lead would have been out number 3 with the score tied at 3. At the end of the day, I'm not mad at him, horsefeathers happens, it was unfortunate. I'm just mad that a foul ball that might not have even been caught was the play everyone remembers about the Cubs downfall and not a botched routineish ground ball hit to a normally sure handed defensive SS.
  2. And now Boob is saying the Cubs are in active negotiations with Lance Lynn...
  3. I do when he's jealous 😎
  4. I mean yeah, but there are other teams that could use a WR1 and are likely willing to pay much more than we would. For instance the Patriots have been desperately trying to land a number 1 WR for Maye. I know they've spent a lot so far but they had the most cap space heading into the offseason so I'm sure they have enough to afford him.
  5. Quiet for the Bears today. Only things I've seen (and tbh haven't looked super hard) is that Hendrickson may still be in play and the Bears are sniffing out the WR3 market with names like Tim Patrick and Tyler Lockett mentioned.
  6. Not really worried. Yes I would assume for pitchers, performance at the end of spring training is more relevant than performance at the beginning when you are building your arm up and working on specific things rather than locking in for the regular season, but in general I still think ST performance is just noise.
  7. What positional group is the Bears biggest weakness now? Still Edge? Maybe RB? WR3? Overall depth? I think the Bears have put themselves in a position where BPA will work through the draft as long as they end up with a RB, Edge defender and OL Edit: Jersey made a very similar post right before me lol
  8. Ima need to see some PFF grades because 3 sacks and 17 QB hits in 17 games last year isn't necessarily making me warm and fuzzy. Not that those are the only 2 stats that make up a good Edge but.. Edit: 66.1 overall, 76th/211 Edges, 65.5 Pass Rush, 56.8 run defense
  9. Feels like Poles always goes big right away on a top target and then goes quiet for a while. It doesn't seem like a very many Edge/DTs are off the board yet.
  10. How is the Bears depth at OL? I know Jenkins is pretty much gone but not sure who else is under contract for next year outside of Amegadjie and I think I saw Bill Murray signed.
  11. I'm still trying to figure out how to best see info in real time on BlueSky. I'm just refreshing the big named reporter's feeds
  12. I love that Bears fans were convinced Mack was coming back here because the Bears put a video on social media with Mack highlights (and highlights of several other former Bears). I see some social media murmuring that the Falcons are trying to lock up Dalman before the window opens in an hour. This is why I don't really spend too much time obsessing over FA before the tampering period opens.
  13. what a horsefeathers collapse the last half of the season. Haven't won a game by more than 4 points since early January are a 2 plays away from a 6 game losing streak to end the season. When Michigan was great they were dominating with Wolf and Goldin...once teams started packing the paint and daring Michigan's guards to shoot every shooter fell off a cliff. Might be a short tourney trip for them. Good season though coming off an 8 win disaster I suppose.
  14. Not sure but I saw on right wing cesspool yesterday that the Bears could technically open up an additional $43m or so by restructuring a few contracts. Not that this doesn't come with long term pains especially when Caleb's rookie contract is up, but they have flexibility.
  15. I’m gonna guess Mizzou, da bum or the pedo
  16. Played for Dennis Allen...
  17. I swear I read yesterday that he did well at tackle. I have no idea if that's true or not and I doubt the Bears plan on using him at tackle anyways so probably doesn't matter.
  18. Is Pass Block Win Rate the ESPN statistic that had the Bears in the top 10ish last year?
  19. His biggest weakness is being a MAGA chud going way back to Trump's first term. But yeah his ability to defend is second behind that.
  20. FWIW a bunch of people on that right winged cesspool are randomly claiming that the Bears and Arlington Heights are a done deal and will be announced after the draft. Also some are saying the Bears are promised a Super Bowl soon after the stadium opens. None of the people are reporters or anything but I find it interesting that after months of no news a bunch of people are saying it’s done. Plus, you’d think people who wouldn’t normally report Bears news might be privy to this info (like people involved with the municipal government in AH). Or one person faked a report and then people looking for clout jumped in with their own reports. edit: actually one of the people is a barstool dude with 400k followers so I guess that’s more legitimate
  21. I’ve seen this mentioned a couple of times during the offseason by the media (issues with Xfinity and Marquee) but now that we’re getting close to the season and media are still reporting these things it’s worth a discussion:
  22. 26 minutes before Ofman posted that, a radio personality from Detroit said this:
  23. What a weird statement. I know there are a few moving pieces here that would affect "win probability" (contract AAV/length and follow up moves being 2 big ones) but seems strange to suggest they don't already have a pretty good idea of what adding him would bring to the team, while potentially subtracting Nico, playing Shaw at 2B, adding a pitcher, etc. I would hope they have a giant computer that shoots projections for all these scenarios within seconds and that they did their initial due diligence weeks if not months ago.
  24. Anyways this is pretty sweet praise
  25. I was reading today that George Halas’ son Mugs was supposed to take over ownership of the team but died suddenly in 1979. Virginia was executor of his estate. This is where it gets interesting (I never knew about all of this): Imagine how different Bears history would be if GSH’s wishes were followed.
