  1. Just one start, though obviously given his track record he is probably regressing to his career norms.
  2. FWIW Justin Steele's hamstring strain last year was also called a mild Grade 1 strain and he was out 39 days, so roughly 5.5 weeks. Obviously every injury is different and everyone heals differently but 39 days from the date of injury would have him returning June 11.
  3. Kelly hits a home run and commits 2 outs in an inning
  4. Is it just me or does PCA seem to have an uppercut in his swing lately?
  5. It's kind of funny that LaHair had a higher WAR in the year he played 20 games than the year he hit 16 HRs and made the All-Star team. Or that he lost his job to Anthony Rizzo shortly after playing in the All-Star game and played sparingly from then on. Or that he never played another MLB game after his All-Star season. Such a strange but interesting story in Cubs lore.
  6. Here is every career start against the Cubs: 2020: 3 IP, 4 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 3 K 2021: 5 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 4 BB, 8 K 6 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 2 BB, 10 K 4 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 7 K 6 IP, 2 ER, 2 H, 4 BB, 8 K 5.1 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 2 BB, 8 K 2022: 4 IP, 3 ER, 3 H, 4 BB, 6 K 6 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 3 BB, 5 K 6 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 BB, 5 K 2023: 5.1 IP, 3 ER, 4 H, 3 BB, 10 K 2024: 5 IP, 3 ER, 3 H, 6 BB, 5 K 5.2 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 11 K 7 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 2 BB, 8 K 2025: 6 IP, 0 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 7 K Overall: 14 starts, 2.91 ERA, 4.9 H/9, 1.05 WHIP, 12.2 K/9 -10 of 14 starts allowing 2 ER or less -13 of 14 starts allowing 3 ER or less The one he allowed more than 3 ER was early in his career and an emergency start as he was mostly a reliever that year. Cubs are actually "only" 5-9 when Peralta starts which seems decent considering his overall numbers against him.
  7. In case anyone was worried about Tucker being hurt stealing 2B in the 9th:
  8. Welp left hamstring strain for Shota. Really really testing our pitching depth with our top 2 starters out and not being particularly imposing to begin with.
  9. Yeah it would be difficult to be charged with 4 runs after leaving a game.
  10. Guys this is actually good. Every time the bullpen implodes we come back and win
  11. Damn, obviously I'm more than fine with the SB attempt but sucks to lose a leadoff single against a pitcher like this who is pitching well.
  12. The Cubs enter today tied for the largest division lead in baseball
  13. Do we buy what the Reds have been doing? They’re gonna lose tonight but they came into today with the 3rd best RD in the NL behind only the Cubs and Mets. Schedule has been super easy of late but they’re winning them mostly. Perhaps they are our stiffest competition.
  14. That’s insane. I wonder if pitchers are starting to work him differently given his chase % is still at like the 2 percentile or something. I guess they haven’t yet since he’s not striking out. Or maybe he’s making adjustments
  15. I keep missing the Brewers batting because I go to do something for a couple mins and come back to see their inning ending
  16. I mean he entered today 3rd in the MLB in fWAR way behind Judge but just 0.1 behind Carroll
