    NOMAR! #NeverForget and Matt Lawton I remember this board was super excited that Hendry finally went after an OBP guy for the top of the Cubs lineup. He had a .380 OBP with the Pirates that year. Traded to the Cubs, he then put up a .244/.289/.308/.597 line, was flipped to the Yankees when the Cubs fell out of it and was even worse before getting suspended for PEDs the next season.

    Well if you believe in regression to the mean, I'd rather read that the Cardinals are hovering around .500 despite still getting average or above average luck.

    La Canfora is a joke. He rarely breaks accurate information and his frequent speculation is wrong. He's just spouting nonsense and it's also impossible to know how good the Bears will be. Fair enough, just concerns me when I read something that could be interpreted as chemistry issues because of what happened 2 years ago. But everything I've read about the Bears locker room seems to be positive.

    Vegas set the Bears O/U at 7.5 wins next year. Maybe I've been beaten down by reading negative Bears predictions for 2016 in the national media, but that seems fairly reasonable. Take the over though. With average luck (including average injury luck), I see the Bears winning 8 at a minimum.

    No Chicago sports teams played on my birthday, but the Bulls lost the day before and after my birthday and the Hawks lost the day after as well. Yay?

    I wanted him so bad and was pissed Jimbo only made a token attempt to sign him. Playing the alternate history timeline is dangerous though. You could say we probably don't sign Soriano after the 2006 disaster, but maybe instead we still sign Soriano but don't resign ARam. Maybe 2008 doesn't happen. On the other hand, maybe the Mets don't make the playoffs in 2006, and another team faces the Cardinals in the NLCS and doesn't let them win the World Series that year. Did I say dangerous? I meant fun.

    So in that stretch of 16 out of 19 home games (reduced to 14) the Cubs went 10-4. Now back to the road where I believe we are 13-3. Weee this is fun.

    20 games over is the invisible barrier that 10 games over was for much of last year.
