  1. Everyone knew the breaking pitch was coming except Jorge
  2. dammit Jorge, should have swung at one of the first 2 strikes. Damn breaking ball
  3. Ha. I don't think Javy would have scored on it either, but I could be wrong.
  4. Man you can totally see the Cubs not changing their approach (rightly so) trying to work the count and make good things happen, but their damn pitchers seem to consistently be painting the outside corners of the strike zone and are getting called strikes, forcing the hitters to get more aggressive and chase. Bryants AB was exactly that...2 called strikes on the outside corner, and then swing at a ball 2-3 inches farther outside than the first 2 pitches.
  5. I spent the better part of a decade being a meatbally idiot and got called out on it constantly. I think I just developed some perspective and realized that absolutely no one wanted to read my posts when I acted like a nitwit in the game threads. Why contribute something on one wants to read? It comes down to the fact that you are emotional about a sports game and you have to let your frustrations out somehow. So do you really want to be known as the dude who can't keep their emotions in check while watching an early season baseball game rooting for a team that has the best record in baseball?
  6. Why don't you just yell into a pillow if you are that unable to restrain yourself from emotional outbursts during sports games?
  7. If they played this series 500 times, the Cubs probably sweep them 350 of those times. So yeah it shouldn't happen, it just does all the freaking time. I'm sure the 2001 Mariners lost a series to a horsefeathers team, I'm sure the 98 Yankees did as well.
  8. I can't tell if this ump has an abnormally large zone, or if it just feels that way because this Guerra dude has been hitting the corners of the zone consistently all game and it just seems like the zone is large because of all the called strikes.
  9. you are more than welcome to, you just sound stupid. It's one thing to lament at being in a slump, its another to act incredulous that this is a possibility. Ski, don't let these [expletive] get to you, you have every right to complain when they play like [expletive], part of being a fan is caring when they are sucking. We should be destroying the [expletive] Brewers, and the Padres and the Braves for Christ sake. Yes complain all you want, you are more than welcome to. And everyone else will continue to point out how stupid it is to complain about a 4 game offensive slump from a team that is 2nd in the MLB in runs scored and is on pace to win more games than any other team in baseball history.
  10. LaStella is a K machine ok maybe not a machine, but he's struck out more than he was earlier in the year.
  11. Jimmy Nelson's ERA is between Gerrit Cole and Cole Hamels, he is a good pitcher. Even if they were all terrible, this is baseball, these things happen. Please proceed to get a grip at your earliest convenience. Okay - this isn't a fullblown meltdown here. I'm allowed to express mild disdain when our offense goes on a three-game slump against three pitchers who combine for league average performance, just like any other user. you are more than welcome to, you just sound stupid. It's one thing to lament at being in a slump, its another to act incredulous that this is a possibility.
  12. I'm more annoyed that, against three mediocre pitchers in a row, they've all had their one of a handful of good starts they'll have all season. Wtf cares, it's baseball. It happens. We've also crushed pitchers like Gerrt Cole, Zach Greinke, Gio Gonzalez, etc. it's 162 game season, I'm not sure how you cannot somehow get some perspective about 3 games in May.
  13. That guy has been such a pest this year against us
  14. Dude he's not throwing knuckleballs out there Miggy
  15. Watching Ross's stellar performance behind the plate yesterday and then Miggys today is quite a contrast
  16. Miggy throws to 2nd on a walk, guy ends up at 3rd. Come on man
  17. Ahh so that's why he's so good against the Cardinals.
  18. Now that Jorge is awesome again, I can fully embrace him and deny ever suggesting he ever go back to AAA to rebuild confidence.
  19. I know there was a 3 week injury in the middle of this sample size (UMFan strikes again) but after a white hot first 6 games of the season, Miggy is hitting .067/.263/.067/.330 since April 15. Of course that's just 38 PA over 11 games.
