  1. Yep theres 32 of these jobs and nearly all of them are not a complete disaster of an organization as the Bears top to bottom. Other than some defense driven Lovie years this franchise has been a complete disaster for 30+ years. They are an incompetent organization and it’s gonna be really really difficult selling the hottest coaching candidate who already turned down multiple potential HC positions last year that we’re somehow fixed while having the same owner who is responsible for those 30 years of losing. Heck the Lovie Bears were the only time in the last 30 years where the Bears were at all relevant and they fired him after a 10-6 season to hire a CFL coach who was on absolutely no one’s radar. We’ve only had 1 winning season in the 12 years since that firing. I honestly don’t think Johnson is coming here and TBH I don’t even think the Bears will have him as their top choice. They’re just that broken. They’ll hire some stiff because he is a “leader of men” and Johnson will join a long list of coaches the Bears could have hired but didn’t even try that hard for. Similar to guys like Kevin O’Connell and Bruce Arians.
  2. This team is a horsefeathers disaster on offense early in games holy hell
  3. When is the last time they even had a lead?
  4. Mercifully I am about to board a flight which should keep me in the air for the entirety of the game. Couldn’t have timed it better to catch exactly none of the game
  5. Obviously a little different since by all accounts the Yankees made a massive offer to keep him but I could totally see the Cubs making it to the NLCS and only making enough of an effort to extend him to make it seem like they tried.
  6. They'll definitely try to resign him but I wouldn't be shocked if Jed made the trade knowing that they had maybe a 20% chance of actually getting something done. Jed needs to make the playoffs next year, with a limited budget he needed to get creative to get a star on a relatively cheap contract. It was a fairly steep cost in prospects for 1 year of superstar play but based on budget limitations it was an efficient way to get a 5 WAR player for $20m. Or maybe I'm just way too cynical.
  7. Can someone explain why “all Caleb does is get garbage time stats” is now the main talking point around him? Heck I might have even pushed that theory at one point but if you look at the Bears schedule, only 5 losses were blowouts (Arizona, NE, SF, Min, Det) and Caleb only really played particularly well in the Detroit game. Sure there were games where the Bears were down big and ended up close because Caleb put up big numbers but they weren’t like Indiana putting up 2 TDs against ND in the last few mins. Maybe the Colts game was but the Washington game literally gave them the lead, GB game he literally led them to a game winning FG attempt, Minnesota game he led them to OT, at Detroit he got them into FG range at the end down 3. Those were big time moments. I think the narrative is more like Caleb has needed time, in some cases significant time, to get going in games but once he gets in a rhythm he plays better. And the Bears are usually losing those games because he is so off to start games. I like to figure out why he starts so slow but that’s not exactly garbage time play.
  8. Haha thats hilarious. I'm assuming you are posting this quote because of the ridiculousness of playing the nobody believed in us card while 13-17? In many ways this is the most fitting Bulls season. Good enough to lose our 1st round pick this year (assuming it falls outside the top 10) but not good enough to be at all entertaining or have anything that might give fans any hope for the future.
  9. Is 50 supposed to be league average? This year 25 out of 33 qualified QBs are over 50. Caleb is 26th
  10. So basically hockey became fun to you because the Panthers have been good? Or you are following the entire league? I have to admit, I enjoy hockey but I get a bit fair weathered when the Hawks suck. During the dynasty run, I would probably tell you the top 2 lines on most teams. Now when I watch non-Blackhawks games I only recognize a few players. I think I'm going to get back into fantasy hockey again to help me get more familiar with the current players again. But anyways the Hawks have been bad to terrible for quite awhile now so its been much less fun for me. And yes the league is terrible at advertising itself.
  11. Man I hate QBR as a stat. Hard to not like what Caleb did yesterday but because his team was down 20-0 quickly due to turnovers and terrible defense (albeit 1 TO was due to a bad handoff), his QBR for the game was just 39.2 which is well below average.
  12. Holy horsefeathers yes we need Ben Johnson more than we need air
  13. Ugh Daniels with 5 TD passes today. Caleb had the better game though. But that will get all the headlines
  14. Yeah it’s just frustrating because they wasn’t necessarily the case last year. People will point to his bromance with Fields but if he was so mad why would he sign an extension? I guess locking in guaranteed money but it’s in his best interest to lock in and build a connection with his QB because Caleb has much better chemistry with Rome and Keenan and very unlikely Keenan will be here next year.
  15. Well solid performance by Caleb today, which is the only thing that matters. I’d like to see him start the game playing well but maybe he’s just a guy who needs to get into a rhythm before he can get going.
  16. Oh my God how many 0 yard WR screens do we need to throw to DJ Moore every game! He doesn’t get any passes downfield. Ridiculous
  17. Man I wish we saw more of that Allen all year 😔
  18. Have the Bears stopped the Lions once today?
  19. 3rd and 17 conversion and you could see it as soon as St Brown caught that. All the blocking was set up. Their blocking is so incredible.
  20. What do we owe him if cut?
  21. 4-10 and down by 20 and you kick a FG
  22. Extremely ballsy decision to throw a jump ball to Rome on 4th and 1. Good throw though. They seem to have developed a connection
  23. What an awful performance by the defense. Gonna allow 50+. Eberflus can come back as defensive coordinator lol
