With Jake already at 85 pitches and L/L matchup as well as Miggy's general ineptitude lately, PH for Contreras wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world.
Who likes to make fun of UMFan? Cubs OBP by month: .364, .349, .312 (April, May, June) Cubs OPS by month: .796, .764, .743 (same) Smart people, does this sound right: Unsustainably high April, about right May, down month June?
it's been 2 innings and 2 hits. i'd give it a little more than that before i compared it to that game. 3 innings, and I'm just saying I am seeing similarities, high pitch count, lots of k's (which are related), and what few balls are put into play are finding holes at a high percentage for hits.
5 and 6 games behind us in the loss column. How much do you expect the best team to separate themselves from the second best team over 60 games or so? The Cubs have been 5-5 in their last 10, Nats 8-2 so you are looking at this during a valley. Could just as easily see the Cubs go 8-2 and Nats 5-5 in their next 10
