  1. I can’t believe I’m even entertaining this but PCA might be as fun of a baserunner as Javy.
  2. And yet inevitably Happ will have a 2 for 18 week and the fanbase will treat him like a plague on mankind.
  3. head of baseball operations really not pushing optimism heading into the season.
  4. I'm still very mad at Arizona for derailing the 2023 season. And now I'm annoyed that they're denying us the chance to beating up on Burnes to start the season for a 3rd time.
  5. Don't know if its worth discussing in its own thread but Jed did a Q&A with The Athletic and one of this quotes was that this Cubs team "doesn't have a lot of margin for error", which seems concerning because a) we're in year 5 of his 'retool not rebuild' and b) Our payroll dropped $20m from last year so Jed apparently wasn't able to reduce the Cubs margin of error except for the failed Bregman exception. Feel like Jed is just over this as his comments are getting more passive aggressive, but maybe I'm reading it wrong. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6226834/2025/03/26/chicago-cubs-president-jed-hoyer-interview/
  6. The Cubs have won their first game against an MLB team since March 10th
  7. 29.3ppg over his last 13 games, and I think I saw he won EC POW the last 2 weeks? wtf is happening with the Bulls...been playing well long enough to take notice.
  8. Maybe we don't keep acquiring Astros relievers with concerning peripherals?
  9. I miss when following the USMNT was fun
  10. This crap goes out to Dan Bernstein, the self-proclaimed intellectual heavyweight, who spent decades calling out sports figures, media personalities, and even his own listeners for being thin-skinned and petty. All it took was one guy on Twitter calling you a liar about releasing a fish, and suddenly you morph from a media personality into internet tough guy. And then—because that wasn't unhinged enough—you decide to threaten the guy’s kids? Over a fish? A fish, Dan. You spent years telling people to lighten up, mocking fans for getting too emotional about their teams, and now you just lit your entire career on fire because someone on the internet called you a liar? Dan, you used to be the guy delivering these Who You Crappin’ rants—now you ARE the crap. So congrats, Bernstein. You went from debating sports to trying to dox a random Twitter user over a fish, all because your ego couldn’t take a hit. You weren’t exposing a fraud—you became one. And now, the only thing getting released is you from your job. Dan Bernstein, who you crappin’?
  11. Completely justified firing. He's had plenty of chances to correct his troubling behavior and keeps doing stupid horsefeathers. That said, like you it sucks. He hasn't really been the same since Boers and Bernstein went off the air, but I've been listening to him for most of the 25 years he's been on the air. B&B was probably less PC than is acceptable, but it was still a wildly entertaining show IMO. But he hasn't been particularly likable since then and given how many times he's changed hosts and time slots, I think he was much more dispensable to the Score than he was 5-7 years ago.
  12. When you piss off all 3 of the other countries remaining in the Nations League by threatening to annex them, you’re probably going to play a lot of motivated teams.
  13. Gregg could at least win the Nations League every time....
  14. Cactus League resumes on Friday! Obviously I wouldn't expect any regulars in that one (except maybe one of the starters), but I wonder how they deploy the regulars for the final 5 games of Cactus League play. This is usually when teams start to lock in and play their regulars most of the game, but the Cubs will be dealing with jet lag for the next couple of days and then there's just a couple games left before the next opening day in Arizona. Guessing Shota and Steele might pitch an inning on their throw day, but otherwise rest until Arizona. The other 3 starters are gonna need to get at least ~50-60 pitch start in there and the relievers maybe an inning or two to stay fresh.
  15. I don't know why they don't just split them 1 home game each. Is there any logical reason that they wouldn't? That's what I thought this was. I didn't realize we only have 79 games at Wrigley this year now. Did the Cubs do the same thing the Bears did last year and keep season ticket prices the same, but you're really paying more because you're buying 2 less games? Definitely seems like a Grifter Tom thing to do.
  16. They totally gave Ohtani that HR because they thought it would be cool for him to hit a HR in Japan right? That's the only explanation because that seems like clear fan interference.
  17. Still have $20m to spend right? Right??
  18. I was a little excited today, but I'm just ready for them to get back to the Cactus League and prepare to start the season proper. But lets get a win anyways.
  19. Especially facing a lineup without Betts or Freeman
