  1. Shocker the Bulls lose a coin toss for draft lottery positioning and the team that won the toss (Dallas) moves at least into the top 4
  2. Definitely a good time to get an easy schedule but baseball has a way of humbling you when you’re not playing well. Thats why bad teams win 45% of games and good teams win 55% of games. On the flip side when you’re playing well like the Cubs were in April you can regularly beat good teams (if you’re also a good team which the Cubs are). Dont mind me, I do think the a cubs are definitely better than 2023 and 2024 but the pitching really scares me. Eventually the offense will hit again and we’ll play well (and not like the offense is playing terrible for an extended stretch)
  3. Agreed there. The starter injuries have had a trickle down effect on the entire staff. If everyone is healthy, Assad or Rea could be penciled in at 5. The other one and Brown could be in the pen as swing guys or maybe another late inning option. It’s just a mess and I hope it sorts itself out soon. As ****** as Jed’s bullpens are, they always find some semblance of workable late inning options eventually.
  4. But do we even have a better bullpen right now than the ravaged one from last year? I dunno maybe we do. I just know there’s not one guy I feel overly confident in getting the job done in a tight spot, even if they do occasionally come through. Always waiting for that pen implosion that has happened several times this year.
  5. 2023 they started 12-7, then went on a 14-29 stretch 2024 they started 24-17, then went on a 16-31 stretch This year we started 21-13 and have gone 2-5 since. Of course 7 games is not a large sample and every team goes 2-5 at some point or multiple points in a season, but the feeling is at least a little similar as 2023 and 2024 they were on fire offensively then cooled off dramatically (hasnt been nearly as dramatic this year but definitely some drop off from when everyone was hitting a week or 2 ago), in 2023 and 2024 they had a very shaky bullpen early and no solidified closer or setup men similar to this year. We also had fairly tough schedules in April when we got off to hot starts in 2023 and 2024 followed by a weaker stretch where we inexplicably struggled.
  6. We'll see. I thought that around this time in 2023 and early on in 2024 too. This team is clearly better offensively and defensively but I think our SP is decidedly worse without any reliable bullpen guys (hopefully will sort itself out before it destroys us too much) and no Steele or Shota.
  7. Do we have a single good reliever? Maybe Keller? Hard to make the playoffs without 1 reliable guy
  8. welp that's 2 lost series in a row and 3 of 5. Time to pick it up boys
  9. I was hoping that Tucker would just magically never slump
  10. PCA has 10 K in his last 24 AB since Tim pointed out how long it’s been since he struck out
  11. How is this dude so good? Very mediocre numbers before this year
  12. You have to download the Roku app but it’s free to watch
  13. How do I access Roku? edit: nvm figured it out
  14. Yeah I’ve gone to a couple of games in Cincinnati and not sure if it’s every pitch but after a lot of pitches there’s music in between. Very distracting and annoying IMO. Yes Wrigley often plays an organ between pitches but that’s traditional and less intrusive than “EVERYBODY CLAP YOUR HANDS” during a big AB
  15. Absolutely no context but I forgot I always like to post this when we play the Mets
  16. I was waiting for Hodge to airmail that. Seems like that happens a lot on grounders to the pitcher throwing to 2B from the mound
  17. Great walk the lead off guy to face Lindor, Soto and Alonso
  18. Yeah that’s the other ****** thing about the HR, guarantees Soto comes up
  19. Are we doing the May swoon for the 3rd year in a row?
  20. Panthers release Clowney. Have no idea how good he still is but gonna ask the inevitable question since the Bears have a need at Edge
