A couple of things 1) I think Wrigley has been very suppressed environment for dongs his year. I think there have only been 12 games with the wind blowing out this year 2) Missing a bat like Schwarber takes away like 30+ dongs. As does missing Soler for awhile. Heyward went from 15-20 HR power to 5-7 HR But yeah 13th in HR and 13th in SLG is slightly disappointing but who would you say is having a disappointing year with regards to HRs? Bryant should finish around 35, rizzo his usual 30-35, Fowler will probably have 13-15, Baez has 13 (DONG!), Russell already has a career high in HR, Ross has more HRs than last year, Zobrist will finish with his usual 14-15 HR. Only disappointments I can think of are Heyward and Montero

The burden of proof changes from one play to the next. This is so true. One replay there has to be absolute irrefutable proof to overturn, the next they are making a judgement call on a 50-50 play, and the next they get irrefutable proof and don't overturn anyways

It makes sense for a team that expects to be in the playoffs to acquire someone previously effective in the pen for almost nothing in return to see if they can get something out of him for the playoffs. The only concern I had was a roster spot being wasted.

I want to see some studies of historical wind trends at Wrigley. It seems like we've had more wind blowing in days than any year in recent memory. Not sure why but it just really hasn't been a favorable dong hitting park for a lot of this year. Which is actually when its better to have dongsmiths like we do because we won't hit as many cheapies. Global warming I was going to suggest El Nino but I have no idea how that would effect the wind if at all.
