  1. Cubs have won 17 of their last 20 games
  2. eh very few high leverage pitches. Lester has been involved in plenty of extended postseason runs, he knows his body well
  3. Poor Jason that was his weekly hard hit ball and it was caught
  4. Damn 49 pitches in the 1st, 50 pitches in the next 4 innings. I'm impressed Jimmy Nelson you might stick around long enough to get shelled by the Cubs again
  5. Finally my unrealistic expectations and incessant complaining do me some good!
  6. Damn I think we tied for the most pitches we've made a starter throw in the 1st inning at 49
  7. When he's hitting well I think he's hitting a HR every AB
  8. Lmao I honestly think that Heyward hasn't gotten a legit hit in like 3 weeks
  9. Omg Soler has turned the corner and we have another .900+ OPS beast in our lineup
  10. Is it just me or has Addy really cut back on his strikeouts over the last month or so. If true that's a scary good development
  11. http://ooquotes.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/1-old-school-quotes.gif
  12. OH look Joe Smith is magically hurt right as we need to make a roster move. Just like Clayton Richard was hurt before or Cahill, etc Its probably like Brandon Dassey's interrogation.
  13. He would play on the top lines with Toews. Have to think Boston and Pittsburgh are favorites over the Hawks though. Why though? I can understand Boston given that he's from the area. But why Pittsburgh over the Hawks other than that its closer to the east coast? I saw some speculation that the Hawks trading away young talent in recent years might be a knock against him as he doesn't want to choose the Hawks and then get traded to Edmonton in 2 years.
  14. Tennessee a more seal friendly environment then Iowa? [tweet] [/tweet]
  15. Anyone else following the Jimmy Vesey situation? He could be a steal for the Hawks, who are meeting with him today. Based on Hockey's Future ratings, he would instantly be our top prospect.
  16. This will be Nelson's 4th start against us this year. 5.1 IP, 2 H, 4 BB, 3 R (1 earned), Cubs win 7.1 IP, 5 H, 4 BB, 0 ER, Cubs win 5.0 IP, 4 H, 3 BB, 4 R (2 earned), Cubs win
  17. The numbers are pretty good. I'm going off B-R for WAR because Fangraphs is inexplicably down (NL ranks) BA: 19th OBP: 5th SLG: 2nd OPS: 2nd HR: 7th RBI: 3rd 2B: 1st BB: 6th WAR: 2nd (4.7 behind KB's 5.5) The only major issues are that I think defensive WAR is underrated him (just IMO from watching him every day), and the fact that he has a teammate who is also a major MVP candidate.
  18. Only the 2016 Cubs could sweep a doubleheader, giving up 1 run in the process and leave me feeling annoyed. Or maybe that's just a problem with me
  19. From 0 on 2 out and a 4 run lead to bases loaded with a 3 run lead
  20. If they tie this game I'm turning it off and crying myself to sleep
  21. I've noticed he dials it down a bit when he needs to throw a strike or focus on location
  22. Wood is so horsefeathering weird. He sucks but not enough to be a complete disaster but enough for him to annoy you. And just when you reach peak annoyance, he randomly comes in for long relief and throws 4 perfect innings and makes a great play in LF.
  23. God horsefeathering dammit Wood. Now there is no way Chapman is available tomorrow. Chapman should have had the entire day off but our shitty ass middle relief can't get 3 outs in garbage time
