  1. Posted on the previous page usurper. Damn, well it needs to be posted again and again.
  2. http://www.sbnation.com/mlb/2016/10/19/13327728/dodgers-cubs-nlcs-2-1-lead?utm_campaign=mccoveychron&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter Grant makes me feel better actually breaking down how dire things were for certain teams down 2-1 that eventually won the series
  3. I am too obsessed with this team. After the Miggy grand slam on Sunday, I was 100% convinced that we would win the series in LA and there was no way we were going to be denied because no matter what things would just work out like they have all year. Now 2 games later, I am having trouble imagining the Cubs ever scoring a run again and as much as I try to push it out of my head it feels like previous playoff fades. I will say though that this team is different. If any team in Cubs history can handle the adversity and turn things around its this team. I know because they've already done it multiple times this postseason.
  4. Yeah seriously and while we're at it, why are Lester, Arrieta and Hendricks on the roster in games they don't pitch? Are they really going to come on in relief? This is just piss poor lazy roster management by Theo/Joe. No wonder we're losing!
  5. He's still a decent WR4 play for the next couple of weeks in a 12 team PPR league though right?
  6. Yeah I'd feel better about the series if the Cubs lost like 4-3. But watching the Dodgers lefties get to Jake and then looking completely helpless at the plate for the second time in a row is testing my faith big time, especially considering Jake is our Game 7 starter and we will have to still face both the pitchers that shut us down once more in the series. The good news is that negative vibes don't effect the team so feel how you want to feel. If they win, it won't change how awesome it will be. If they lose then you can pat yourself on the back for 'calling it' or whatever helps you sleep at night.
  7. I guess you've missed the Lackey narrative on the site this year. MUCubsfan Role Player Posts: 59 Joined: Mon Sep 12, 2016 9:54 am Hot take there Tim. Considering he is a former poster, I'm guessing he was lurking around the forum enough to know about this.
  8. Oh horsefeathers you Dodgers, you crossed the line. That's our celebration.
  9. Random fantasy observation/question. I am having WR trouble with byes and went to go pick one up and see that Ty Mongomery is projected to score the following over the next few weeks according to Yahoo: 17.39, 30.28, 34.54 (!), 29.79, 32.06, 19.47, 26.90, 20.85, 28.33 This has got to be a bug right? I get Starks and Lacy are out and even though hes considered a WR, its him or Davis who was just picked up but projecting someone who literally had 0 fantasy points before last week to have 34 points in a game seems insane. Even the best flex guys in the league don't come close to 34 projected points.
  10. You expect to beat Kershaw in Game 6? Lol. We must win the next two and then hope we can figure out a way to win Game 7. I mean we were about 30 feet away from beating him in game 2 so while I don't expect to beat him I'm not conceding the game just because he's pitching it.
  11. I will name my next pet or child (whichever one comes first, probably not another kid) Dickbag McHorseteeth if Mr. McHorseteeth is the winning pitcher in this game. Anyways not a great matchup for him. He has a career .741 OPS allowed against lefties and their lefties are all like prime Barry Bonds against righties
  12. He pretty much said himself that he hasn't had consistent command of his cutter this season, and that he works off of that pitch a lot, iirc. Yes but he's also recently said that he's found the command again and is comfortable using the pitch again. In his last start he threw it 29 times, the most since April. Not sure how many times today but either way it doesn't seem to be translating to any sort of added success.
  13. Geez I'm sick of all the horsefeathering lefties. All lefty lineups l, 75% lefty rotation. You'd think this team was sponsored by Ned Flanders Leftorium I'm sure this is by some specific design by Friedman purposely to make Theo look bad but it's annoying nonetheless
  14. How do we know he would suck on 3 days rest? Because he did it 2 times against teams that are not absolute trash against lefties and wasn't in peak dominance? Did he only throw 77 and 86 pitches the 2 starts before he went on 3 days rest? Did he have an artificial pitch count limit of 100 for the previous 2 months? Sorry I'm being abnormally aggressive toward you with likely simplistic meatball thinking I'm just in a bad mood
  15. That's what he wants you to think. Pulled after 77 pitches in game 1, last chance to get 3 starts by LHP in the series, Dodgers hit 175 points of OPS less against lefties, Cubs in a situation where it's not must win but probably should win, every other manager is abusing their starters and having success etc Have lackey go against kershaw in game 5, maybe he will have a chip on his shoulder and match him. Starting Lester in Game 4 will make me want to scream into a pillow, a capper on a truly garbage baseball day You are smart. Why is it such a bad idea when the dodgers are a completely different team against LHP? They are like the 95 Indians against righties and the....206 NLCS Cubs against lefties. Ok maybe that's a liiitle bit extreme but I don't trust us to win 3 of 4 games when 3 of the games will be started by right handed pitching. It's a bit of a gamble because of the 3 days but I feel better knowing Lester is going 2 more times. He's had a really light work load lately. Now you respond with 500 reasons why my thinking is all wrong and change my mind
  16. It's going to be Lackey.
  17. Because of his 07 playoff choke and now tonight Rich Hill is my least favorite person ever and I would punch him in the face if I came across him in public
  18. So much for the Montgomery theory. Guess Joe has already decided on Lester tomorrow
  19. Yes because their hitters aren't in horrific slumps like the Cubs right. so...whats your point? You were talking about how good the other pitchers were, but the Cubs can't hit anyone right now. So is it the pitchers they are facing or this supposed slump? I don't know what my point is, this is very difficult to deal with ok
  20. Haha yes bring in the overworked closer to get 4 outs in a non save situation when you at the beginning of a 3 games in 3 days stretch
  21. Hendricks just gave up 1 run and Lackey has only pitched 1 game Hendricks got smoked by a baseball in the physical sense. Point is, Cubs have also thrown really good pitchers and other teams havent had issues hitting them. Yes because their hitters aren't in horrific slumps like the Cubs
